@IAmTheVisual_ Yes. The first day of school was always the day after Labor Day, and the school year ended at the end of June. School day hours were 8:30am - 3:00pm. Also, we never, ever had a snow day.

Back in the olden days, I swear I remem starting school after Labor Day…ended sometime in June. And school started at like 9am and ended at 3:30 or 4p. I hated once the start time started rolling back earlier + earlier. I def hated starting school at 7:30a

City parents are raising concerns over next year's public school calendar, which delays the start of classes until nearly mid-September and ends on a Monday. The first day of school this coming fall will be Thursday, Sept. 10, with the last day of school set for Monday, June 28. Starting on Sept. 10 will extend this year’s summer break to around 11 weeks, up from about nine weeks last year. The delayed start stems from the timing of Labor Day, which falls on Monday, Sept. 7 this year. Under state law and union agreements, the school year cannot begin until after the holiday — and teachers report for two days of preparation before students return.

@Jay_McGill94 Not schilling for anyone, but from what I recall about his downfall, coupled with information including that he was unemployed & seemingly unemployable w/ court docs saying that he turned to tobacco and alcohol, did he have the wherewithall to seek professional help?

@BronxRobb Yes, it is. But did he ever get that verified from a professional or a clinician? It was still his responsibility to get help if he or anyone else suspected something was wrong.
