Just in: The Sacramento Kings are waiving DeMar DeRozan, making the six-time All-Star one of the top free agents, sources tell ESPN. The sides worked collaboratively on this resolution after exploring trade routes.

If your brain is broken by politics so much that you aren’t happy Balogun is playing, and you’re an American citizen, you should be deported

Yeah, but that's only half the story. The other half is that once he wasn't, overturning that in a pretty unprecedented way at the same time as a nation's government leans on you to do so, is at best horrendous optics and at worst outright corruption of the game. In abstract terms, it's the correct outcome, but to get to that outcome, they may have burned down the integrity of the tournament.

Jaxson Dart looks like he had a great 4th of July 😂

Sandy Brondello confirms Marina Mabrey is available today vs. the Dallas Wings

Status alert: Marina Mabrey (neck) available to play Sunday, per coach Brondello. (via @zulfi_sheikh)

I think part of the reason some have an issue understanding true shooting and contextualising it, is the name. People hear true shooting and think it’s a measure of your shooting ability, which makes sense given the name. But when you include free throws in the mix, that’s not really a traditional view of shooting ability or efficiency. So someone who shoots 80% from the line (8/10) but 25% (1/4) from three and 50% from 2 (1/2) wouldn’t be considered a good shooter but they would have a ts of 62.5%. This would be a basic fg% of 33%. If it was called true scoring eficiency (tse) or just true scoring, it’s a lot easier to parse as we don’t have to debate in our minds, or out loud, a bad shooting player having a very good true shooting%.

Yards per route run is a dumb stat. If you threw to a receiver every play and he averaged 2.3 yards per route, he’d have a Hall of Fame number and you would never score. Any stat that doesn’t withstand a test like this is worthless. It’s a volume stat. We gave targets.

Every FBS football program has t-shirt fans to some degree. (T-shirt fans are fans who never went to school there or in many cases have ever set foot on campus, but they think they did because they bought the t-shirt). There's nothing wrong with t-shirt fans per se -- schools sell the t-shirts for a reason -- but when t-shirt fans trash talk as if they are alums it's cringey. When you didn't go to school there, you don't know what it was like to go to games as a student, you have nothing in common with people who did go to school there except the t-shirt, this kind of stuff looks pretty silly.
