One quiet Sunday morning in the wintertime, I was in Beatrixpark pondering it all, and I saw this thin layer of ice on the water.
I felt an attraction to it that I couldn’t quite explain, but I looked around, and there was nobody else in sight. I could undress myself and just go into the cold water, which is exactly what I did.
I remember very clearly that I wasn’t bothered by the cold at all, I was just curious.
That curiosity was much stronger than the temperature of the water. Can you imagine that?
But while now I know why that was, back then I simply experienced it. And that cold water had an unexpected effect on my body, which is that I felt great.
I was playing with a thin layer of ice all around me, feeling astonished that I had the ability to just play in it.
I was looking at the ice — not understanding yet, just looking — and thinking to myself:
“Wow, I can play! I’m in the water! And it’s fine!”

@aimeeterese Ah yes, the archetype that was foretold by the scriptures long ago.

@jubileemedia You did it again, and you're good at what you do, but maybe a little too good. I couldn't make it through even 25% of the video before I was triggered and had to turn it off.

@FormlessCJ 1 exact year after. Almost down to the same time of day, too.

There is no way that on the same exact day I injured my rotator cuff a year ago, that I coincidentally decided to try out 225lbs on the bench for the first time since the injury today and repped it for 3 without pain!

Lots of updates: I injured my rotator cuff. So, I'm switching to a machine that doesn't exasperate the injury. Garage spin bike routine is going well, lactate threshold training is tough. DDR is benefiting from spin bike use. Ice bath is potentially coming back.
