🇮🇷 Day 3 of the U.S. naval blockade: An Iranian-flagged cargo vessel tried to sneak out of Bandar Abbas, slipped through the Strait of Hormuz, and hugged the Iranian coastline in an attempt to evade the blockade. The USS Spruance (DDG-111) intercepted it and successfully turned the ship around. That makes ten vessels turned back so far and zero ships have broken through since the blockade began on Monday. The U.S. Navy is making its point without firing a shot. Iran is testing the limits, but so far the blockade is holding firm. Source: U.S. Central Command

Fmr PM Clark on Bkfst: “Positioning by this (Luxon led) government never made any sense - clearly one-sided… a (Iran) war of choice launched in the middle of negotiations….totally illegal strike…people find hypocritical…you can cower … in the end you have to count for something - not for nothing"

Impacts of Middle East crisis are wide ranging & likely to be protracted. Listening to Christine Lagarde, one can only draw conclusion that countries need to build their resilience urgently to such shocks thru greater supply chain diversification & moving away from fossil fuels.
