If the @Commanders eventually make some uniform tweaks, this is a good place to start. Add the three center stripes back and go with a gloss finish. Cut the center stripes over the helmet gap. Adding some white trim around the “W” would also help. Easy fixes. H/T @DaneStorrusten

@Gcarmi21 My guess is that Styles and Love go before us and we select Tate. And I’m good with that. While I’m really high on Downs too, I’ll never complain about adding playmakers around JD5.

Nothing has really wavered my opinion on this. In fact, it's becoming more solidified. The team will take Styles if he's there. He's their no.1. If Styles is not there, then it's Love. Then Tate. The only thing I would change about my prediction is that I was too low on Delane. I think he's firmly in the mix.

I haven’t always been in favor of a black alt but they executed this one to perfection. To your point, this helmet is going to look great on the field.

I certainly understand why there’s so much discourse around the Commanders new black helmet… But I gotta say, I’ll be very pleased seeing it on the field. Loving the low gloss black shell too 🔥

The reason for the helmet color mismatch for the Gaints, and other teams, is that during the 70s/80s and even into the 90s, many teams didn't paint their helmets. The teams used factory helmets that were made from molded plastic in basic colors like navy blue, white, black, etc.

@CommandChris22 That is interesting. Not really sure what that distinction is. But, I’ve also learned not to judge these things off initial pictures. Sometimes just lighting can make it look off. I’m sure they’ll look good on game day.

Gloss, 100-% I like Matte. And some teams (especially in college) have made them look so good. But not ours for some reason. The gloss just looks better.

@chuckg716 Our new black helmet is actually low gloss, not matte. While very similar, there are some subtle differences. The Falcons do the same thing with their black helmet to reduce glare from the lights in their indoor stadium.

They lowkey missed the mark on this one because the gloss looks 100 x better. Matte helmets do not look that good on TV honestly. They should make this change next year.

Dismantling a life: My other kids were out and on their own when the marriage imploded and Conner and I moved out in 2019. So it’s been just us since then. We bought this house 2023, and had the garage built in 2024. So we were set. He went to Florida last May, and the plan was that he’d come back this Summer, take over the house, and I’d just be the old guy living here fixing his food. Now, I’ve sold the house, and settlement is in a few weeks. So I’ve been dismantling the life we were building. I’ll be staying with my daughter and her kids for a while until I figure out what’s next. It’s a dark period for sure, because my whole life revolved around tending to Conner. If I didn’t have other kids, I would have already checked out. He was the joy of my life. So who knows what’s next in life. I’ll get back to painting eventually - and these new Commanders uni’s will be first on the list for sure. #ConnerBaby

New #Commanders gear came in today. The blacks looks sharp. But I absolutely LOVE the Burgundy. The '26 version is a deeper burgundy than the 2022 & 2000s era. The "new" version has the SB font, and the numbers are about an inch bigger than ST21 era. Probably why I like them so much. #RaiseHail

Looks like I’m not a real fan. I’ve ordered $0 worth of new gear. I’m paying a ton of money towards my kids sports/trainings so looks like I’m pulling down my Adam Archuleta jersey from the attic to at least look the part 🤷🏻‍♂️
