@CasualTrader6 I know that’s a risk. Because Jayden needs more WRs and we’re in trouble if Terry leaves next year. But we HAVE to hit on our 1st round pick, and it has to be a true impact guy. I just don’t see a WR being that guy knowing who else will be available (2/2)

@CasualTrader6 I hope not. I just don’t believe in trade backs. Not right now anyway. We need an impact player. A true stud. I hope AP goes BPA at 7 (which will probably be defense unless Love is there) then I hope this deep WR class comes through at 71 (1/2)

We need to upgrade WR, no doubt. But the hit rate on 1st round WRs is terrible (about 19% to 22%). They HAVE to nail the pick at 7 and get an impact player. Just go BPA at 7 then best WR at 71. It’s a deep WR class. And if they find a respectable WR2, it would be a great draft.

I feel like we were in a great spot to get someone I really wanted until the Giants made that trade. Just felt like they could take the luxury pick at 5 then the need at 10. But damn, if they’re going to take Tyson at 5, then we’re back! I can’t believe they would take that risk

@Tiller56 High probability. Not priority. He’s saying he understands it’s unlikely. But you never know what’s going to happen, especially post draft if teams didn’t get what they hoped.

If a trade is not a high priority, why not just release him and let everyone go their separate ways. We obviously know no team is offering a draft pick to take on his current contract, and he can just refuse to report to somewhere he doesn’t want to be.
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

#49ers GM John Lynch said he’s had trade discussions with teams on WR Brandon Aiyuk but acknowledged it’s not a high probability they find a taker. “We’ll see it through the draft—if something happens, great; if not, we’ll re-evaluate after.” Lynch confirmed again that Aiyuk has more than likely played his final snap with the organization.

@Shellsyeah81 @JayDanielsMVP The hit rate for 1st round WRs is about 22%. Just, think about that for a min. And remember this is the guy who spent a 3rd on LMC, & a 2nd on Sinnott. Maybe we shouldn’t force the position and we should just take the best football player available. The guy least likely to bust.

@JayDanielsMVP My concern is getting a later round receiver. We need better caliber of talent at receiver. They all can’t be Terry in 3rd round.

Regardless on where you stand of which receiver you’d rather have… The #Commanders absolutely cannot afford to walk away from the NFL Draft without adding at least 1 WR. It would be complete malpractice to solely rely on Brandon Aiyuk’s eventual release.

Already about half of 1st round picks either bust or are nowhere near as good as the team hoped. It’s hard enough to get a player who simply doesn’t bust without intentionally taking a guy with less talent because his position is more valuable. Find a good player and draft him.
Rio Robinson@Rio_Robinson91

Positional value is in the trash this year Everyone taking a chance on something ATYPICAL at the top of the draft An undersized SAFETY, A Running Back, an Off Ball backer and a WR2 Going TOP 10

NFL Network has obtained the police report on the misdemeanor charges against Zachariah Branch, who was arrested while standing on a public sidewalk for not moving far enough when a police officer asked him to move: “A male, later identified as Zacharia Branch, continued to stand on the sidewalk without making an attempt to move. I continued to give Zacharia Branch verbal commands to move from blocking the sidewalk and advised that if he did not, he would receive a citation for blocking the sidewalk. Zacharia Branch smirked, then stepped backwards and to the right, then remained standing upon the public sidewalk, so as to obstruct, hinder, and impede free passage upon the sidewalk as well as impede free ingress/egress to or from the adjacent places of business. Due to those actions and Zacharia Branch’s failure to comply with multiple verbal lawful commands, he was placed under arrest for misdemeanor Obstruction of LEO and received a citation for Obstructing Public Sidewalks.”

Former Georgia WR Zachariah Branch, who is widely expected to be a Day 2 NFL draft pick, was arrested early Sunday morning in Athens, Georgia, on two possible misdemeanor charges. spr.ly/6014B6CVa8

@MV3JamarLackson @sethjoyner Yeah maybe Although I do think there’s an interesting case to be made for practicing harder causing less injuries. I think the majority of it is simply a bunch of enhanced pro athletes and the stress that weight/torque puts on their bodies, particular in a collision sport.

Sorry I couldn't pass this one up‼️Today's players get paid 20X more to do less! Tired??? How about you get in shape to work a minimum of 17 out of 52 weeks per year! The excuses Geez! You don't hit in practice, never condition after practice, and play zero snaps in the preseason! #NEWSFLASH That's why yall stay hurt all the time! But sports science, coaches, and owners allow the nonsense! So I guess they keep bitchin & complaining until all they have to do is show up on GameDay! What's happened to the sport I love?? 🙄🙄
JPA@jasrifootball

𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: Ravens WR Zay Flowers says that former HC John Harbaugh’s practices was what caused the team to be plagued with injuries, he said on @4thAndSouthPod “Full pads all the time. However many practices in pads you can get, every single one. We're doing one-on-ones in Week 17. Week 17, we're doing one-on-ones, everybody out there, we're tired, we're still going...that's why we had a lot of injuries.” (H/T: @TannerPhifer)

@SimoneBett Payne is not worth a 1st Lawrence might literally be the best nose tackle in league history. If not, he’s one of the best ever. Payne has been ok, and inconsistent. They’re not the same. Although I agree the Bengals overpaid.

Giants just flipped Lawrence for the No. 10 overall pick. Commanders fans are over here trying to manifest a trade where we give up Payne for a 3rd rounder & some jalapeño cheddar sliders 1 guy gets you a blue-chip rookie, the other gets you 'flexibility' to sign a punter.

@SimoneBett @NC_Skins_WFT Styles probably doesn’t get past the top 5. AP might actually get murdered if he’s there at 7 and doesn’t take him. I would be shocked if he falls to 10. I’m hoping the Giants draft Tyson at 5. Let them make that mistake 🤞

@MV3JamarLackson @sethjoyner The reason for the injuries is PED’s, clearly. But nobody wants to talk about that. These guys are bigger, stronger, faster than ever. That means higher collisions and more violence. Ligaments, bones, tendons, cartilage… all that can only handle so much stress before it snaps.

@sethjoyner Yes because all the soft tissue injuries, hamstring pulls, and non contact ACL injuries the players get now a days are from "not playing enough" or "not hitting enough" I agree football has gotten softer. I don't agree however that's the reason for the rise of injuries.

@MarshW_7 It’s annoying that we had to force ourselves to kinda like them for a few years. I was always all the way out on the white jerseys. The all burgundy wasn’t terrible, but needed work. And the black just didn’t have burgundy. But I did like the flag and crest on the black.

@SilentNightFolk @RyanWetzelMT Not that I care what these people are saying about the spear. But it’s just amazing that this dropped today as you’re trying to argue there was never an issue with the old logo and there wouldn’t be a problem brining it back… they’re saying it about a simple spear bro.
Yahoo Sports@YahooSports

The Association on American Indian Affairs called the Commanders' logo update "disappointing and inappropriate," adding, "We are not your mascot," per @USAToday. The team called its new alternate logo, which features a spear and interwoven "W," "a powerful joining of past and present." (📸 @Commanders)

@TheDistrictNFL @RyanWetzelMT So I think the logo should come back with a name that fits it, I'm not advocating for Redskins. Redtails is at least honoring the Red-tailed Hawk and that's a badge of honor in Native American populations.

Ugh, I genuinely hate that some of you are still hopeful and are still wasting energy on this. I’m not talking shit, I understand. But it’s NOT happening. You guys are thinking way too narrow. We live in a very different world than we did before they changed the name (1/4)
Chuck G@chuckg716

Josh Harris is very smart. What’s happening is exactly what he wants to happen. He knew changing these uniforms back would drum up the name and logo conversation. He showing the NFL executives and owners we still care. He ain’t got do shit. We doing for him. You guys need to think deeper.

@SilentNightFolk @RyanWetzelMT I genuinely understand what you want and why. You don’t have to defend it to me. I want a better name than commanders too. I’m just saying, it’s very unlikely to happen. And even if it does, it’s even more unlikely the old logo returns with a new name.

@SilentNightFolk @RyanWetzelMT Redtails would clearly be a nod to the Tuskegee Airmen. And any attempt to try and make it about a bird, and then NA, is even more convoluted than trying to make Commanders semi-NA.

@TheDistrictNFL I mean they can’t even keep all of the government funded so if they’re involved it’s gonna take a while. On average it takes about $20 million to do a rebrand. Josh & Co. are more concerned with paying for that new stadium than a rebrand.

@ckey24 I’m not doubting that the owners hated Snyder. You’re just arguing with yourself about stuff I didn’t say. You’re assuming 1) they made him change the name to “hurt” him. And 2) that it wouldn’t have changed had they ousted him first. Especially No. 2. You don’t know that.

@TheDistrictNFL Say what you want to try & defend your position, but if you were paying attention as you say can’t ignore the scathing reports that other owners were leaking about him. Since some from Congress are involved it’s not that simple to change it back.

@CommandChris22 That is interesting. Not really sure what that distinction is. But, I’ve also learned not to judge these things off initial pictures. Sometimes just lighting can make it look off. I’m sure they’ll look good on game day.
