@discordspies @Ceaseless_boid As for the Bastion, wouldn't this (in theory, at least) encourage infantry support for the tank to deal with smaller targets with AT equipment the tank can't immediately hit? I'm all for making the Bastion stronger but it should be destroyed if you don't support it with infantry.

@CornIndividual @Ceaseless_boid The two main team play focused items in the game - the Bastion and FRV - were affected by durable damage increases to enemies. Rockets and plasma weapons now do 3x the damage.

@discordspies @Ceaseless_boid The arc thrower stunning a Charger in one shot doesn't sound like it'd improve teamplay, if anything it'd be a buff to players who run off from their team since they could easily stunlock Chargers alone. Is that really a nerf to teamplay? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the point.

@CornIndividual @Ceaseless_boid All status effects used to be affected by a bug that applied them multiple times over in squads. This was “fixed” but a lot of weapons that relied on stun gas and fire were just immediately reduced in effectiveness. Arc thrower can’t one-stun chargers anymore for example.

@discordspies @Ceaseless_boid What teamplay stuff has been nerfed? I definitely agree on the explosives bit, but I’ve only started getting back into the game pretty recently (January this year, I last played around Omens of Tyranny) so I don’t know what specific nerfs you’re referring to.

@NoBillPrice @JoePostingg It doesn't happen with the President because the President is the chief executive, not a member of the legislature.

@NoBillPrice @JoePostingg This happens in the House sometimes with the Speaker, which is the actual parallel to a PM losing confidence and being replaced.

Impeachment should be a low stakes affair because you retain control of the Presidency. In a healthier political system parties would routinely toss their President mid-term.

@KhalDraco4 @TBestig @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg Congress could consider wearing a tan suit a High Crime Or Misdemeanor but I don't think that's a fair reading of what the Constitution means by that.

@KhalDraco4 @TBestig @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg This very much feels like twisting the meaning of the Constitution. Sure, Congress could make High Crimes and Misdemeanors whatever they want. But I think that defeats the entire point. If you can redefine everything to mean something else, why even have a Constitution?

@paultwinkbryant @Grey_Athena They add the fucking Southwest man. How is South Florida less Southern than the Southwest?

@paultwinkbryant @Grey_Athena If the map wants to say it's not Southern, they actually literally added a "Not the South" category to use but then didn't use it for South Florida.

@xsr398 @JoePostingg I'm not sure how over-using the punishment is an improvement. OP said that impeachment should be a low stakes affair, something that should be routinely done. Impeachment should be for high crimes and misdemeanors (even if not literal crimes). It's not a low stakes thing.

@CornIndividual @JoePostingg You’re not sure how punishing malfeasance will prevent further malfeasance through fear of consequences?

@RazzberryYams @ATwinEarth @JoePostingg Words still mean something, last time I checked, regardless of the consequences. I don't think it was accidental that they chose the term convict.

@TBestig @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg It's not an accidental use of words. I'm not saying it's only referring to literal crimes. But I don't think parliamentary systems impose this kind of restriction on votes of no confidence.

@CornIndividual @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg Already covered this. “High crimes and misdemeanors” is not an accidental use of words, you don’t get to just discard the literal meaning because you think it sounds like something else in modern times.

@TBestig @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." Seems to imply that it's only for the most serious of acts,

@TBestig @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg And I'm saying those matters of conduct impose a higher standard than removing a Prime Minister through a vote of no confidence.

@CornIndividual @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg I didn’t say unpopularity was one of them. I said “high crimes and misdemeanors” does not only include written law, it also covers matters of conduct.

@xsr398 @JoePostingg Yeah that's bad. I'm not sure how making impeachment something that happens whenever a government official is unpopular actually solves the problem, however.

@CornIndividual @JoePostingg Right, but none of them have ever been convicted and it’s led to our current moment of lawlessness and cronyism where someone like Noem can siphon hundreds of millions to herself and then not even be fired, just “reassigned”.

@TBestig @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg The Constitution states the justifications for impeachment. Unpopularity is not one of them. Twisting the Constitution to make unpopularity a high crime or misdemeanor means that the Constitution effectively no longer matters. That's how you get the draft, among other things.

@CornIndividual @MrNew_Vegas_ @JoePostingg “They are different” doesn’t mean “this one has to be a dramatically higher standard than that one,” it could just as easily mean “that one has to be a dramatically higher standard than this one” What is the actual REASON? Not just “they are different”
