@CosmicEvolution @RabbiPoupko I guarantee you wouldn't. Were Israel to offer that, the danger would exist that Israel would stop being a Jewish state and would have an Arab majority. That is the opposite of zionism.

In 1937 the majority of Jerusalem's residents were Jewish. 30% of the people living on this piece of land were Jewish. The proposed Jewish state would have hundreds of thousands of Arab Palestinians. The proposed Arab Palestinian are would have ZERO Jews. It was a horrible compromise that the international community made us with the Peel Commission. But we took it, even though they were stealing our lands. Palestinians rejected this offer even though it favored them so heavily. It was never about Gaza or freeing Palestine. They want to annihilate us.

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko There are some Zionists who believe that. Most of us don’t believe that & for us it’s just an issue of trust, due to all that has happened since 1920. If an Arab in Gaza, Ramallah, or Jericho wants to become Israeli & will sign a loyalty oath to do so, I would say great

@DahliaKurtz The "Christian Palestinian family living under Zionist occupation" probably means an Arab Israeli family whose members work alongside Jews, pay Israeli taxes, benefit from Israeli health and social programs, and speak Hebrew..

She went to university in Falasteen. Except it wasn’t really in Falasteen. And it wasn't really university. It was an "experience." She says Israelis just don't understand. She's right. Because Israelis don't speak Door Knob. 100 points to anyone who can translate for us.

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko Zionism doesn’t mean believing Arabs are interlopers. There are Israeli Arabs serving proudly in IDF to protect their home;they’re better Israelis than ultraorthodox draft evaders. Zionism simply means agreeing that the Jews have a right to their national homeland like any nation

@CosmicEvolution @RabbiPoupko I half agree with you. Palestinians have to accept the reality that is israel. But they will never really be zionists. To be a Zionist is to believe the land rightfully belongs to the Jews and that the Arabs are interlopers. Almost no Palestinian will ever believe that

@CosmicEvolution @RabbiPoupko Some of the biggest PanArabs I’ve ever encountered were Zionists. They demonstrated this when they said that Palestinians had 20 other Arab countries they could go to, as though it should have meant anything to them that Algeria was nominally Arab.

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko It’s too late to do anything about the red areas, just as it’s too late to do anything about the blue area. Just realize the absurdity of complaining about the blue area & realize that complaining about it will do nothing to help Palestinians. They should have accepted partition

@CosmicEvolution @RabbiPoupko I’m afraid I’m still confused. That red land outside the Arabian Peninsula should go back to whom, exactly? And in a fair world, should America go back to indigenous tribes like the Cherokee and the Navajo?

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko As for the implications for Palestinians, you don’t seem to realize that the Palestinianist movement was preceded by the pan-Arabist movement, led by Nasser in the 1950s & early 60s, the very nature of which was antithetical to the existence of any Palestinian state.

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko In a fair world, the tiny blue area would be similar to what it is now & the red would be limited to the Arabian peninsula, because the Arab colonial project through Mesopotamia, the Levant, the Horn of Africa, and the whole of North Africa would not have occurred

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko You are really acting like an idiot. If you care about the Palestinians, you should be critical of the pattern of decision making that got them into current circumstances. Kvetching about how unfair it was that Israel won is not going to help them. Judge fairness by this map..

@CosmicEvolution @RabbiPoupko The Palestinians have had to face the consequences of Zionism everyday for the last 78 years. This is a conflict that came to them.

Time travel is great for longevity! Actors Joan Collins and William Shatner @WilliamShatner each doing fantastically well in their mid 90s. Pictured here in the Star Trek episode "The City on the Edge of Forever," set in the 1930s. #StarTrek #HappyBirthdayWilliamShatner

I worked as a volunteer medic on an ambulance. We give our time to save lives. We don’t care what religion you are when it’s time to save you—we just want to help. Hatzalah volunteers are the same. Their ambulances are funded by the Jewish community, and they are staffed by Jewish trained volunteers. However, the volunteers help anybody in need. This is who you want to get rid of? You’re trying to eliminate the people who actually want to save you.

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko Without Zionism, there would have been no Palestine. The Zionists are the ones who developed the infrastructure, rid the place of Anopheles, and made the place thrive. People were displaced in the process, yes, but the Arabs screwed up by rejecting partition.

@ben41080 @RabbiPoupko So what if there was no general order for Arab residents of Palestine to leave? There was a general order for the Arab armies to invade & by invading & losing the neighboring Arab states f&&ked things up for those who would have been in the new Arab state.
