Dancers... be good to each other. You all love the same thing. Respect that common bond. Don't be so threatened by each other. There is room for us all.

One of my favorite things in the world is when baby girl comes home from dance excited about something she accomplished in class.

If you're just dancing to win, you're doing it wrong. The trophy fades. The impact you make on us from the heart & honesty in your performance, because you LOVE IT, is a much bigger prize. Forgive the run on sentence.

I saw so many teachers in the wings this weekend. How have you not heard the golden rule, "If you can see the judges, they can see you." Get outta there.

Kudos to the comps that limit you to 2 solos. We enjoy our job very much... (well, let's hope if you're judging that you love it.) But I don't need to see a jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap & song and dance solo. Pick your favorite 2 and let's do this.

You want to stand out? Be competitive? Don't forget about ballet. Work hard in ballet. It matters. Immensely.

Why do people hate on excellent dancers? Your face tells a million stories during awards. Don't hate. Work harder.

Time management is essential. Change quickly. Make it work. Making an audience & judges wait is rude AND our expectations go up. #hurryup

I love sitting at the judges table & hearing dancers cheer on their friends during amazing moments from the wings. It really warms my heart. That's what it's all about.

I saw a happy contemporary piece today. I loved it. It can be done. It should be done more often. Be the exception.
