Things coaching has taught me about myself 🔴 Tactics and technique used to be my obsession. Now I know, coaching is a relationship-based job. If players feel seen, valued, and supported, performance follows. People first. Always. 👇

My opinion - the "growth" of women's football is a bubble and it's going to pop as men's clubs (and most importantly their fans) find they can't sustain a financial drag. HOWEVER, the future is positive. Grassroots women's clubs will grow and create their own fans on the way 👍

Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 SWPL season, the Club can confirm several changes to AFC Women both on and off the field. // bit.ly/4ehc7E6

@_ToddBeane At youth level, your style/system should revolve around and accommodate players - play with that you have. I’ve seen coaches try and turn players into mini Xavi’s and destroy their confidence

That England kit is incredibly naff and looks like the kind of thing you would get free with 20 cans of Carlin in 1998. I am a fan 🤣

We built 12 Claude Code skills that run $300K/mo in ads across Google, Meta, and LinkedIn. I'm giving all 12 away, free. 4X ROAS on $1M+ spent. Ivan, our head of growth, built them over 200+ hours running campaigns for our clients. They work the ad platforms from the terminal in plain English: > build custom audiences from your CRM lists > catch creative fatigue before CTR drops > bulk-edit campaigns, bids, and naming in seconds > cut wasted spend on dead Google search terms > audit quality scores and surface keyword gaps Drop them into Claude Code, connect your ad accounts, tell it what you want. It reads the skills and executes. You get all 12 ready to install, plus the 67-min video where Ivan and I walk through how we run them for clients. Reply "ADS" and I'll DM you the repo + the video. Repost to pass it on. Must be following.

Most players are trained with tons of technical reps & no decisions, just to score & be ball dominant. But without context, they don’t learn how to react. Drills don’t develop feel. Real development requires chaos, frustration, & problem-solving. That’s how game skills are built.

TOVO Tuesday Article ✏️ Once Upon a Play
Once upon a time you played.

You did not train kick the can.  You did not practice hide and seek. You did not drill hopscotch or prepare for fingerpainting. You ran, you hid, you hopped and made a mess. All in the name of frivolity and fantasy.

Once upon a time you played.

You did not need motivation to move. Mindfulness was minding your own business. There was nothing at home but white bread and a thin bed. You were out for the day and home before dark.

You did not need a playdate to play. You knocked on doors. You gathered the available turning a street into a stadium. “Car, car – C-A-R” was the only delay in delirium. No phones, no fear of missing out. No text, just context.

And suddenly that bell. The truck was sauntering down Montrose Terrace in Allendale. You sprinted home to grab change from the cracks in the sagging sofa. Forty-five cents a fortune. Push-up cone or ice cream sandwich?  The tough choice of champions.

And in that process learning emerged. You learned that mowing a lawn was worth the sweet taste of sugar cones. That a morning paper route was worth afternoons of rope swings and bee stings. You learned that poison ivy itches, but that sea water solves rashes and restlessness.  You learned that nightcrawlers are the best bait for bass. And the best bass were hungry at dawn off Earnie’s rocks or Teddy’s dock.

You learned that your first fight won was a loss because victory hurts when you hurt someone. You learned that baseballs bruise and big dogs bite when you do not pay attention. You learned that play was a privilege, not a down payment for an Ivy application. You learned to stack wood, paint a shed and to shed tears when Muffin dies. You learned that down syndrome kid is just a kinder version of you.

Once upon a time you played.

You learned about leaners and ringers and the hidden rules of horseshoes. You learned that Grampa was a leftie and Nanny was a tom-boy with grey hair and a stubborn soul.

Once upon a time you played free from scrutiny and far from adults. You kept score and then washed the slate clean on the bike ride home.

I am not sure what I offer as a coach if not a safe place to play. And that just may be enough to give to the children of today what I cherish from yesterday.

Once upon a time I played, too. #TOVO

@MFCScott1991 Similar thing happened at my former club. Player wanted to continue to train across grassroots and academy and was told no by the grassroots coach. Took her away from her best pals. Thankfully she's still an absolute driving force at Vibes and thriving but that was poor imo.

My 9 year old girl has been offered a trial period with a Pre Academy professional club. I decided to apply for her to attend an open trial for another Pre Academy. I think my girl is decent and want her to challenge herself. She loves her grassroots club but unfortunately they refused her permission to attend either opportunity therefore she had to be released to attend both opportunities which I feel is completely wrong. I just feel its so sad she has to leave her group of friends to challenge herself, what really frustrates me is as a scout in boys Academy this approach dosnt apply so the woman's game is discriminating against there own players IMO. I wanted to keep her at her grassroots team and pursue her dreams but she finds herself joining a new team. If the woman's game wants to progress and have the same respect as the mans/boys league this must be addressed. I have contacted @ScotWFootball and Child wellbeing at SYFA for advice. Luckily she has options to go elsewhere but I feel this is wrong, clubs shouldnt make choices abo my child myself and my wife should, my wee girl was settled but now leaves a group of friends behind. Please share to raise awareness of this as I dont want other girls facing this. @HerGameToo

I just built a Claude Code plugin that automatically researches viral trends in any niche 🤯 Drop in your niche -> and it surfaces the hooks, angles, and topics going viral right now across Reddit, YouTube, TikTok & Reels, so you always know exactly what to post. All inside Claude Code. Perfect for DTC brands, agencies, and creators who are tired of guessing what to make. If you're spending hours "researching" content, doom-scrolling TikTok for ideas, copying competitors who are also just guessing, staring at an empty content calendar every Monday... This plugin kills the entire loop: → Drop in a keyword (your product, your niche, a competitor) → It scrapes Reddit, YouTube, TikTok & Instagram Reels → Ranks every post by real engagement → Pulls the hooks, pain points, & exact customer language that's working → Renders a clean content-brief dashboard telling you what to make No guessing. No doom-scrolling. No blank calendar. I ran it live on "magnesium for sleep" — in 3 minutes it surfaced a 5.1M-view hook and the exact complaint customers keep repeating ("it works for a few weeks, then stops"). What you get: → The top hooks already winning, with real view counts → Your customers' pains in their own words → The formats getting watched right now → 3 ready-to-shoot content ideas Built 100% in Claude Code (with Apify + Firecrawl). I created a step-by-step playbook that shows you how to build it yourself. Want access for free? > Like this post > Comment "TRENDS" And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)

Because of what Sir Alex Ferguson created there - an absolutely unbreakable team spirit. Before you watch youtube clips of "Pep's 3000 favourite rondo's" or "possession drills for newborns" you should strive to build this.
Brizzy@Utdbrizzy

Quick question: why is it mostly only Manchester United legends that still move like brothers even after retirement? You rarely see that bond at other clubs. Even Bastian Schweinsteiger, a Bayern Munich legend, doesn’t vibe with ex-teammates the way he does with United legends.

I've been driving around the Scottish Highlands for a few days and I've noticed a big difference in towns compared to where I live in Devon. In Devon, whenever you drive into a town you have to pay to park. That's before you spend anything in shops, bars, cafes etc. Councils consider car drivers as the enemy. A mere cash cow. If you park - YOU PAY. Hence, many people now avoid town centres like the plague or they severely limit the number of times they visit. For the past few days I've stopped off in many towns across the North of Scotland. I've parked in council car parks and not once have I been confronted with a ticket machine, a barrier or an ANPR camera. And guess what? I've actually been into shops, cafes, restaurants etc and spent money. In so doing, I've helped the businesses to do what they do best - Providing goods and services to their communities. Communities free from paying extortionate amounts of money to local councils for the "privilege" of being able to park up and visit businesses who rely on their custom. Councils "down South" should take notice. If you price drivers out of towns, they stay away, businesses close and the town dies. The evidence is everywhere. (And yes, I know Internet shopping is another enemy of the High Street so I don't need to be informed about that).
