💧@ENTSOG is taking part in the 1st European Hydrogen Regulatory Forum (#H2RegForum), organised by the European Commission, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the opportunities and challenges of developing a robust hydrogen market and regulatory framework in Europe. 👥In Rotterdam, PierreDuvieusart, PiotrKus, and GeorgeWüstner participated to several working sessions discussing: - Regulatory regimes that can adapt to shifting #gas flows and evolving system needs. - The crucial role of energy system #integration, highlighting how existing #gasgrids via repurposing can accelerate the #energytransition. - The continued collaboration with ENNOH to support Europe’s molecules‑based energy system. 💡A clear message emerged: leveraging existing #infrastructure, coordinated #regulation and cross‑sector #cooperation will be essential to support Europe’s #molecules grid and deliver a #competitive, #decarbonised #hydrogen market.

🎤@PierreDuvieusart, @ENTSOG , joined the panel discussion at @GIE’s launch of the EU gas storage outlook study. Pierre joined the panel discussion “Shaping the Revised SoS Framework”, moderated by Leigh Hancher, and alongside Doug Waters (UNIPER ENERGYSTORAGE LIMITED), Alan Croes (@ENTSO_E -E), Andreas Guth (@Eurogas), and Isabelle CHAPUT (@IFIECEurope). He emphasised that: 📍#Securityofsupply is at the core mandate of ENTSOG and is not only a #European issue, but also one with very concrete geographical dimensions, requiring coordinated planning and visibility. 📍ENTSOG’s proposal to undertake a mid‑term security of supply analysis (10‑year horizon) would allow a more thorough assessment of adequacy between #supply and #demand, better reflecting the actual status #grid #development. 📍The growing #interdependence between #gas and #electricity systems are critical to SoS. As renewable electricity generation expands, gas increasingly plays an important role as a #flexibility and backup solution, supporting system stability and #resilience. 📢 Pierre also mentioned ENTSOG’s Summer Supply Outlook, which is planned for publication in early April! 👏ENTSOG thanks GIE for the opportunity to participate at the launch of the important study!

George Wüstner, @ENTSOG, actively participated at the @CEERenergy webinar: Making Europe’s Energy Networks Work – Investment, Efficiency and Regulatory Insights 💡 Moderated by Raphael Hanoteaux (@CEERenergy), with contributions from Franziska Henrich (@CEERenergy), Nicolò Rossetto (@EUI_FSR) and Dr. Rainer E. Pflaum (@TransnetBW / @ENTSO_E), the session explored how regulatory frameworks shape #investment, #efficiency and risk‑allocation across Europe’s energy networks. George highlighted that 👇 📌 Regulatory frameworks are complex and context‑specific, with national circumstances guiding decisions, making #NRAs best positioned to assess each case. 📌 The energy crisis showed the importance of #flexibility, as - next to gas infrastructure - also regulatory regimes adapted to shifting gas flows and system needs 📌 For the #H2 market, intertemporal cost-allocation is a strong starting point, but a broader financing toolbox will be needed to ramp-up #H2 #infrastructure. @ENTSOG President Pierre Duvieusart and General Director Piotr Kuś sincerely thank EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing @DanJoergensen for the opportunity to exchange today on the important role of the gas infrastructure for secure energy supply. Especially during challenging times, the gas grids enable reliable and flexible energy supply to European consumers, including industries. Key points raised by ENTSOG 👇 📌 We are closely monitoring the #security of supply situation, coordinating the Regional Coordination System (ReCo) for Gas, providing frequent updates and participating in regular meetings of the Gas Coordination Group. 📌 In the context of Russian gas #phase-out and the need for supply #diversification, strengthening the EU grids by mid- and long-term integrated planning of gas and electricity infrastructure is essential, to fully understand the picture on demand and supply. 📌 Existing gas grids can speed up the Energy Transition with the transmission of renewable gases, like #biomethane and #hydrogen. This can be done affordably and quickly by repurposing existing infrastructure (pipelines and storages). The @ENTSOG team is currently undertaking the Summer Supply Outlook assessment which looks at injection levels and the possible evolution of demand and supply from April to September each year and will include an overview analysis for the upcoming winter. Stay tuned for the publication of the next report, expected in April 2026! 📕 @EU_Commission #EnergySecurity #EnergyTransition #Competitiveness
