Closing the Dáil for 19 days for the Easter break is WRONG, Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD, while the whole world is facing a Trump led catastrophe, it is WRONG that our parliament is closed - and not conducive to cohesion in our society. #FuelProtest #DoNothingGovernment

Mikey’s case has been raised time and time again in the Dáil, @conwaywalsh is constantly advocating for him and his family and it breaks my heart to see he is still left waiting in limbo. His family had been trying to get in touch with @CarrollJennifer last year and their emails were going unanswered (surprisingly). So when we went in to meet the health minister and Tánaiste, I pulled her aside and gave her Mikey’s mam’s contact details on paper directly to her. Mikey is most definitely known to government. His situation and his health decline is common knowledge within the Dáil, yet he is still left waiting with no plan of care. His family are advocating, and pleading their hearts out while our government enjoy a lovely long Easter break. @CarrollJennifer @SimonHarrisTD @HSELive

Ongoing Scoliosis Scandal Why do we tolerate the cruelty being inflicted on children by CHI? A DISTRAUGHT mother and father have urged Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill to help save their only son's life - ✍️ Valerie Hanley Michael and Penny Henry's eldest child Mikey has a rare neurological condition as well as scoliosis. And the 17-year-old's spine has become so curved it is almost three times worse than the optimum to benefit from surgery. The best outcomes are if the spine has not curved beyond 45 degrees. But the curvature of the Mayo teenager's spine has already reached 130 degrees. Waiting Lists According to the most recent figures, the total number of children awaiting surgery has not changed with 241 in February 2025, and exactly the same 12 months later. #CHI #MikeyHenry #Scoliosis #BackUs #PublicInquiryCHi @IrishMailSunday

Zelenskyy has picked the wrong side in the US-Israeli/Iran war. He’ll get no thanks from Trump and he has alienated many European supporters. How stupid is he to support an illegal war, while he seeks help to defend Ukraine against an illegal war? Should have stayed silent.

Over 11,600 patients with suspected breast cancer not assessed within clinics’ target time last year -✍️ Eilish O'Reagan Of the “urgent” 30,100 patients referred last year, 18,443 were seen within 10 days, leaving 11,657 getting delayed appointments. Nationally, just six in 10 of the women referred to the breast clinics were assessed within that timeframe. #HealthCrisis #Cancer #Waitinglists #IrelandisBroken independent.ie/irish-news/hea…

The main losers of this war has been the Gulf States. Being frontline states for a declining hegemon is a disaster, as Ukraine and Europe will also at some point recognise. Frontline states in Asia, such as South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, are now having these discussions. The hegemon is gone and its alliance systems such as NATO must be replaced with inclusive security arrangements. Make peace with your neighbours!

@NigelAWatson @HangBlaa Same applies to EU member states. Money from Germany, France, Spain and others who still buy Russian LNG also funds Russian attacks on Ukraine. Why does nobody mention that? Iran, one of the most sanctioned states on the planet isn't the issue here.

@ZelenskyyUa "is important that the United States has taken this diplomatic step" Should the aggressor be rewarded for taking diplomatic steps? Would you say the same to Russia?

A ceasefire is the right decision that leads to ending the war. It means saving lives, abandoning the destruction of cities and villages, and allowing power plants and other infrastructure to operate normally – and thus provides the time and conditions necessary for diplomacy to deliver results. Ukraine has always called for a ceasefire in the war waged by Russia here in Europe against our state and our people, and we support the ceasefire in the Middle East and the Gulf that paves the way for diplomatic efforts. Ukraine tells Russia once again: we are ready to respond in kind if the Russians stop their strikes. It is obvious to everyone that a ceasefire can create the right preconditions for agreements. Various countries have been involved in the negotiating process, and it is important that the United States has taken this diplomatic step. In recent weeks, Ukraine has been helping to protect lives in the Middle East and the Gulf. Ukrainian expert military teams will continue to work in the region to help further develop security capabilities. The situation in this region has global implications – any threats to security and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf amplify challenges for the economy and the cost of living in every country. That is why security must be guaranteed, and the interests of every nation must be taken into account when defining post-war arrangements. It is equally essential to safeguard freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and resolve on this issue also has global significance. To achieve the right outcome, active and coordinated action by the international community is needed. There must be more security after the war, not less. Ukraine will continue to work constructively with all partners. Thank you to everyone who is helping!

No written records between RTB and minister over mass eviction in Wexford, admits department -@louiseburne_ This is despite the minister telling reporters on March 4 that he had spoken to the head of the RTB, Rosemary Steen, about eviction notices served to 36 households at the Hazelwood Estate in Bridgetown, Co Wexford. The Social Democrats claim the lack of correspondence indicates James Browne did not take the matter seriously. Accusing the minister of "misleading", Mr Hearne added: "Just [makingl a phone call is not a request to the RTB to undertake a significant intervention and investigation of a mass eviction." #Evictions #Wexford #renters #HamesBrowne #FFG irishexaminer.com/news/politics/…

The U.S.–Iran agreement on a ceasefire is a step back from the brink after weeks of escalation. It creates a much-needed chance to tone down threats, stop missiles, restart shipping, and create space for diplomacy towards a lasting agreement. The Strait of Hormuz must be open for passage again. I spoke to Pakistani Foreign Minister @MIshaqDar50 and thanked him for securing this initial deal. The door to mediation must remain open, as the underlying causes of the war remain unresolved. The EU stands ready to support those efforts and is in touch with partners in the region. I will discuss this in Saudi Arabia today.

No, what is astounding is Mehdi saying "Right now. Iran is Ukraine". Beyond offensive. Sickening. Ukraine, unlike Iran, has not been waging global terror for 4+ decades. On contrary, Iran has been assisting Russia to attack Ukraine. Mehdi has lost the plot entirely!

When Ukraine is attacked, it’s called an illegal war, and suddenly every strike is “self-defense” — even attacks on 🇷🇺and Russia-controlled power plants, markets and residential buildings. But when Iran is attacked, it’s “the criminal Iranian regime” and apparently, they all deserve more missiles, more bombs, more destruction. Every self-defense is a crime. That’s Zelensky’s “democratic Ukraine” for you — morality on demand, hypocrisy as policy.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

It is unfortunate that the UN Security Council has once again failed to demonstrate effectiveness and act decisively in the face of such a global threat as the Iranian regime's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. No one should be allowed to block such globally significant sea lanes or undermine the security of dozens of nations through terrorist attacks against the freedom of navigation. We faced a similar challenge in the Black Sea when the Russians attempted to block our ports and civilian shipping—Russia was trying to suffocate our economy. And we found a way to solve that problem through decisive action, not inaction. Now, we see a similar problem on a global scale. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open to all vessels that sustain vital economy lifelines and maintain normal international trade. Countries in the region have spoken clearly on this, and we support the aspirations of the people of the Middle East and the Gulf for peace. Peace and security in this region directly impact stability, market predictability, and the cost of living in every single country. Such problems and this war must not be prolonged. The world needs a functional UNSC that acts more decisively to resolve acute security challenges of global magnitude.
