@CopicSquiddo Her behaviour was generally awful. But Greg kind of was enabling that. Through a different lens, one could also perceive this as a g-rated coping mechanism in line with drugs/alcohol addiction to deal with their grief. Steven catching them in the act sells this idea.

@vishulore Pearls animosity was more blatant for obvious reasons but seeing Amethysts thinly veiled anger is quite nuanced, like a child's apprehension when a parent pays more attention to what could be a metaphor as Greg being a 'stepfather' taking attention away from the mothers child.
