So he took a near decade long break from film to raise his family and considered to quit filmmaking entirely, but despite being in his 40's he decided to give it another shot after watching a play, which he then adapated & directed and turned into Incendies which earned him an Academy Award in 2011, and put him on the map. He then went onto make Enemy, Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and at 58 years old is now set to wrap him his epic Dune trilogy. Truly one of the more inspiring and beautiful stories in Hollywood, never give up on your dreams.
