The “anticolonial” crowd went awfully silent when Turkey started talking about reconquering Jerusalem.
They’d go nuts if British ministers vowed to reconquer New Delhi. They’d go ballistic if the French said they’d “liberate” Algiers or the Spanish said they’d take back Lima.

What exactly is your definition? The mass incarceration and disappearance of Uyghurs has resulted in a 50% plummet of their birth rate, which is exactly one of the prongs for the UN's definition. It also fits the definition of a cultural genocide.

For example: if I take all your kids away, put them in homes where they can't learn their own culture, then sterilise all the adults.

Documentary discusses mass internment of Uyghurs, systematic family separation, cultural erasure, forced assimilation and a massive surveillance apparatus used to find and disappear dissidents.
