@bernie_collins1 It won’t improve overtaking- it might create more overtaking or make it easier but that’s not an improvement in my view.

This year #AzerbaijanGP features 100m longer DRS zone. This will improve overtaking! Lots of action ahead. #f1 #strategy

@TheBishF1 @VeloceBooks Thanks for the recommendation Matt. Didn’t know if it. Lance is generally only known for 1955, so good to be able to balance that. Sounds like he was a bit of a Duncan Hamilton -Touch Wood is such an entertaining read 😊

Lance Macklin, born #OnThisDay in 1919, served in the Royal Navy in WW2, taught himself to drift an Invicta (his dad owned the company) around London’s Belgrave Square, then started 13 GPs (’52-55) in HWMs & Maseratis. I recommend Jack Barlow’s excellent biography.

Remembering Tazio Nuvolari’s great rival Achille Varzi, born #OnThisDay in 1904, one of a small group of truly brilliant pre-WW2 GP racers, albeit a troubled & eventually morphine-addicted man. Varzi drove 139 races, winning 33 of them. Pic: Bugatti T53, Klausenrennen, ’32.

This really is quite bizarre. @McLarenF1 must have a stock of images to which they own the copyright, and this does not appear to be one. And it’s not as if the M23, M26, MP 4/4 etc were unattractive.
