@MickPuck Best nick name I have heard is, 'Buckets', for a fella who had overly long arms, and kept them down by his side when walking, like he was carrying a couple of buckets. See him walking along and, "oh, here comes buckets".

When I was 19 I moved back to Edinburgh to form my first professional band. Me + guitar partner John got jobs in the Parks Dept to raise money for guitars & amps. We found a bedsit, and looked for other band members. My Parks Dept work was London Rd Gardens, under Calton Hill

I suppose I had music in my head all the time, and it was 1978 so it would have been The Clash, Bruce & Television, but I don't really remember. I lasted two and a half weeks. On the third Wednesday, in late morning, the axe fell and I walked off the site, never to return.
