MoSPI released the report titled “Environmental Accounting Explainer Series: Pollination Services” on 18th March 2026 during the Two-days Capacity Building Workshop on Monitoring Frameworks of Sustainable Development Goals, Compilation of Environment Accounts, and Gender Statistics held in Patna, Bihar. The publication presents a comprehensive assessment of pollination as a critical ecosystem service, combining ecological understanding with economic contribution of pollination services to support policy analysis. NSO, MoSPI released the publication titled “Environmental Accounting Explainer Series: Pollination Services” on 18 March 2026 during a capacity-building workshop in Patna, Bihar. This is India’s first dedicated publication on pollination services, prepared in line with the SEEA framework. The report highlights India’s rich pollinator diversity and the growing economic importance of pollination, which contributed around 8–10% of total crop output value (2012–13 to 2021–22). The value of pollination services increased from ₹115.41 thousand crore to ₹266.33 thousand crore during this period, underscoring its significance for agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. NSO (Field Operations Division), MoSPI marked foundation stone laying ceremonies for new office buildings of Sub-Regional Offices (SROs) at Ayodhya and Belagavi.
