REPORT: Rory McIlroy skipped the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral for “political reasons.”
According to source close to the PGA Tour, Rory is “a huge liberal” who “doesn’t want to be seen anywhere near Trump.”
A different source said Rory was making jokes to other players about being tempted to “topple” the statue of the President if he was onsite at Doral.

Yeah but Brian Rolapp said he wants the Tour in the biggest markets. Miami is #8. And people have been calling for the Tour to bring back iconic courses. Blue Monster definitely fits that. Trump Doral is only 1 of 9 current Tour events to have been on the schedule for more than a half decade
One other thing—this tournament was only announced back before Christmas. Not a lot of time to promote.

The only reason anyone is going to show up to Doral is because Trump will be there on Sunday, that is it nothing can help the PGAT they’re the real failure 75 years and they lose money every year, they make bad decisions like the TGL and the $500m for a video game man cave that will never make a profit nor even revenue, nobody wants to watch dudes play a video game in the basement!
