@BaseballWRLD_ I think most of us recognize Duke Snider as the all time HR leader, but would still be an incredible feat for a guy who was DFA’d from his first ball club

There is a non-zero chance that Max Muncy retires as the LA Dodgers all-time leader in home runs That is incredible for a franchise as storied as they are

@theaceofspaeder There is likely a small percentage of any of these “balls” reasonably being hit into play . Are you suggesting it’s impossible? And why should pitchers not get credit for a strike by clipping the zone with a well executed pitchers pitch?

Once again, this is not about the rule or the call, it is about whether or not balls that can be called strikes can actually, reasonably, be hit into play. I cannot understand how this is lost one people, truly.
Matt Cederholm (Blue Check)@TheBigHurtHQ

@theaceofspaeder When it's any part of the ball, you're only judging on one margin. Make it 50% and now you need to judge both the zone and what constitutes 50% of the ball. The line needs to be drawn somewhere. No matter where you draw it, some pitches will miss by a millimeter.

“The Ohtani rule(s) aren’t made for Ohtani” God they’re so fucking delusional. You know what’s crazy? MLB didn’t allow Ohtani to pitch and hit without the Angels losing their DH. The rule got put in place when he became a Dodger. x.com/meeliinc/statu…

@ShortStopBall The pitchers you speak of actually got more time in between innings than Ohtani. Bum

@MrPlowSD @latheredlippsy Even if you’re going to choose to ignore the data, you’re arguing “special privileges” over a few extra warm up pitches man. Making a mountain out of a molehill. Their opponents don’t even care as much as you do

@latheredlippsy @Hand02K It wasn’t until the pitch clock era as long as it was within reason. Even then, the enforcement was $500. Which is like a cup of coffee to most of these guys

I think Dodger fans are living proof that sports fandom might just be a continuous cycle of misery for most people regardless of team performance. This fanbase has: - watched their team win back to back WS in a row, beating rival teams on the path to doing so - continuously own every team the Dodgers are rivals with - always have exciting home grown talent to watch throughout every level of their farm - root for the best player all time - have an owner worth hundreds of billions of dollars that spends endless money on the franchise And still find ways to cry, be miserable, and complain about what other teams are doing on the internet lol. Man, if I watched my team win back to back I'd log tf off the internet for years and not feel an ounce of suffering for a decade minimum😂

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to still be agitated by at least one thing from last year’s World Series: how long it takes Shohei Ohtani to warm up when he’s on the mound. nytimes.com/athletic/71836…

MLB should absolutely not be allowing Shohei Ohtani more time to warm up than any other pitcher. It’s Ohtani’s choice to be a two-way player. Hitters should not have to wait around for additional time between innings because a guy on the other team can’t get warmed up in the same amount of time as everyone else. Either he can handle the rigors of being a two way player or he can’t. But changing the rules for him is ridiculous.
Foul Territory@FoulTerritoryTV

"I was told by two people directly involved this morning that Springer was not complaining at all." @Ken_Rosenthal says George Springer was simply asking the home plate umpire for clarification that Shohei Ohtani indeed gets more time to warm up.

@Prtylkeits1776 @MrPlowSD Don’t think I got owned, it literally falls under umpire discretion. Notice how Springer’s reaction to this was completely normal and yet you are the ones bothered? Like I said, write them a letter

@Hand02K @MrPlowSD You’re the one trying to defend it. You get owned so now you say write them a letter. Just say “you’re right” or I agree. Such a bot answer to incite more of a negative response.

@Hand02K “Discretion” for every first inning he pitches is not how the rule is intended. Rules are there for a reason. Dodgers don’t like it? Don’t lead him off

Chewing out your first baseman playing his non-natural-position for a couple very forgivable mistakes on imperfect throws, only to play defense like a bumbling buffoon the rest of the week and get caught stealing down 3 runs in the ninth. Historic levels of egg on face/stupidity
