The Sun only ever wore a gray mask, but I made a graphic of what it would look like with an orange mask.

Of all the WFL designs I have in my Teepublic shop, I think the SUN are the biggest seller over the years. If a league brought the Sun back they would make a mint.

I wasn't even alive when this league existed, but I have been obsessed with it for decades. World Football League 1974-1975 What is your favorite WFL helmet?

Today's helmet of the day features a nickname and mascot that is almost never used for sports teams. When I was 6 or 7 I had an old red helmet shell with no mask and made up my own football team, the Buffalo Spiders, so I have always had a soft spot for Richmond because of that. I also was really rooting for Cleveland to bring back the Spiders after they ditched the Indians name, but the story is that Richmond made it difficult for them trademark wise. Not sure how true that actually is.

Dan Marino. Where does he rank now for all-time QBs?

Today's WFL Uniform is the Detroit Wheels. Sporting future Canucks-like colors, they had former Tennessee QB Bubba Wyche at QB. Brother of NFL coach Sam Wyche. They managed only one win in their lone season.

I've said this for a couple years now, it looks so much better with the outline.
