@Annie_LFC I don’t think so, I definitely think midfield is a area we can definitely upgrade in.
English

@C_Renzo29 @LFC92 Yeah, possibly!! I can definitely see him being used more productively with a better manager as I do think Slot has definitely not got the best out of these players in my opinion.
English

@Hughes8178 @LFC92 We’ve seen players who profile similarly over the years in th EPL for pace, athleticism, dribbling and ball carrying. When you get it right with those players they have the ability to make the opposition shit themselves because they seem unstoppable. We using him incorrectly
English

@C_Renzo29 @LFC92 I just think the midfield in general can definitely be upgraded upon, definitely..
English

@Hughes8178 @LFC92 Not necessarily goals and assists, instead being able to take the ball forward with intent and he’ll do that better in a number 8 role. We saw a glimpse of this against PSG where he was the only player who looked capable of being able to carry and get into dangerous positions
English

@KemiBadenoch He won’t go, he’s got no honour & values himself far too much.
English

@paulp_123 @LFC92 I definitely think we could sell 3 or even 4 from our midfield and be upgraded on, in my opinion definitely room for improvement in that area.
English

That’s my take. I don’t think he links up well with those around him. I watch him and his starting positions. He stands in no man’s land marking no one, making it to easy to play around. When we counter, he slows it down far too much by not being creative. Occasionally we see a nice pass, but if being pressed he turns back. Hes a moments player. We need a 90 minutes player. A Tonali type, he’d be a great addition imo.
English

@McGlynnimino Creativity an issue out of the midfield for me Ian, Gerrard & Hendo on that right we’re capable of whipping balls in. The current lot are not the best. I like the look of Fernandes, Camara myself. I think you need to help Wirtz with more freedom & protection behind him.
English

@C_Renzo29 @LFC92 I can’t see it to be honest, I can’t see Gravenberch being a creative midfielder or whipping balls in for Isak & Ekitike. I just don’t see it, none of the midfielders are good creatively to be honest.
English

@LFC92 Would really like to see Grav off the leash in a more advanced position. Has a higher ceiling than all our midfielders if we get it right with him
English

@paulp_123 @LFC92 To be honest Paul, I’ve not seen him whip balls in the way Hendo & Stevie did. I had this convo with mates, he’s got loads of energy/running, and can bang a ball but needs to create/ defend better.
English

@Mobyhaque1 I like him a lot, I definitely think him, Wharton, Fernandes would add so much to the midfield.. it’s who they get, definitely will be if they can grab a bargain.
English

Lamine HAS to be an option this summer. A workhorse in midfield & won’t break the bank. We so desperately need players like him. Camara & Wharton would be dynamite
Moby@Mobyhaque1
Lamine Camara recovered the ball 13 times in this match vs PSG who they beat 3-1. He was immense in midfield.
English

@WilsonCoxLFC Don’t rule out Fernandes. Especially if West Ham went down, same situation as spurs with Gray.
English

Liverpool would want to replace Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister should both move on this summer. Adam Wharton and Alex Scott are being looked at.
English

@DaveOCKOP He’s a clown!!! The players can’t play every few days and look knackered because every opportunity he gives the days off all the time.
English

Arne Slot:
It's definitely helpful most of our players are available and we're now only playing once a week. Most of our players have shown they can play every three games but not all of them can.Either they get injured or their performance drops a little bit.
From that perspective it's maybe good we are not playing in Europe anymore but I'd DEFINITELY prefer to be still in as it gives the players more energy.”

English

@Andyc1178 Or spent zero time at the academy with the youth teams like Klopp did?. I mean that would be a kick in the teeth to young lads trying to make it.. However, credit to Virgil who does spend time at the academy watching the youth.
English

I’ve posted Ajax want him and he’s not against a move there in the future. Whether that’s this summer let’s see. But for edging my bets? I’ll never claim I said he was leaving if he leaves but I’ll take my credit because I’ve called the end of season review and saying he won’t be sacked during the season.

If Arne Slot remains in charge beyond this summer, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is unlikely to remain part of the coaching staff.
Slot is instead keen to bring back John Heitinga to his backroom team, while the club would also look to appoint a new set-piece coach.
Should he stay, Slot would be given until around October/November to deliver clear improvements in performance and results. Failure to do so could result in a mid-season change.
However, no final decision has been made — everything will depend on the end-of-season review as we reported numerous times.
English

@Mobyhaque1 Still light for me Moby. I’d say midfield needs a bit of a revamp.
English

@indykaila He’s gone!!! It will come out he’s returning home & the club have agreed to it. He’ll then probably end up at Ajax….

Exclusive 💣
Richard Hughes is really the key player in keeping Arne Slot at Liverpool. He’s all in on Slot for next season and has plans to bring in two pacey wingers to shake things up.
Now, Michael Edwards is still on the fence about Arne Slot, which adds some tension. Since Hughes is calling the shots on football decisions, it puts Edwards in a tricky spot.
If Michael Edwards wants to move on from Slot, he’d have to go against Richard Hughes, and that could really sour their close relationship.
Will Hughes get his way, or will Edwards make a bold move to override him?
