Once again, our network is mourning the loss of a colleague. I am deeply saddened by the killing of Dr. Somayeh Mir Abo Eshagh, a 44-year-old volunteer with the Iranian Red Crescent Society, who lost her life on 27 March while carrying out a Red Crescent mission to provide humanitarian relief assistance and psychosocial support services to those in need. Just one month into the conflict, Dr. Somayeh is the second @Iranian_RCS volunteer killed while saving lives. On behalf of the @IFRC, I send my deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and all @Iranian_RCS colleagues. The killing of Soumaya, and any attack on humanitarians is unacceptable and must be condemned. We continue to call for the protection of humanitarian teams who risk everything to save lives - this is a moral and legal obligation. Our statement: bit.ly/4tnA6aJ

The @IFRC is outraged by the killing of Dr. Somayeh Mir Abo Eshagh, a 44-year-old volunteer with the Iranian Red Crescent Society from Khansar in the Ishafan Province in central Iran. She tragically lost her life during airstrikes, while on duty, on 27 March. We express our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and all colleagues at @Iranian_RCS. The killing of Soumaya, and any attack on humanitarians is unacceptable and must be condemned. Humanitarian workers must be protected. It is a moral and legal imperative. When Super Typhoon Fung-Wong approached the Philippines, communities didn’t wait, they prepared. From strengthening homes to carrying shelter kits across rivers, 176 families in Quirino took early action alongside @philredcross volunteers. Days later, as the storm hit, courage was tested, but never lost. Behind every response are people choosing humanity, even in the toughest moments. ❤️🌧️

In Myanmar, when the earthquake struck one year ago, some said it felt like the shaking would never stop. Now, one year later, things are starting to sound and feel more secure, hopeful and familiar. One year of intensive efforts from the @MyanmarRedCross with the assistance of the @IFRC and its network has made a significant impact. This is the story of U Win Maw's new home and the impact of one year of recovery efforts from local, community based volunteers. #LocalEverywhere. 👉bit.ly/40Z3HLl

One year on from the Myanmar earthquake, we stand alongside communities in recovery, honoring the strength, resilience, and solidarity that have carried them forward. ❤️ From emergency response to rebuilding lives, the incredible dedication of @MyanmarRedCross volunteers, staff, and leaders, supported by partners, has made a lasting impact where it matters most: within communities. Today, we’re grateful to share a moment inside the home of one community member, a reminder that recovery is not just about rebuilding structures, but restoring dignity, hope, and livelihoods. As we move forward, our commitment continues: supporting recovery through shelter, livelihoods, and disaster risk reduction, hand in hand with communities every step of the way.

One year on from the earthquakes in Myanmar, millions are still struggling to rebuild. From day one, the @MyanmarRedCross , supported by the @IFRC network, has stood alongside communities, reaching hundreds of thousands with lifesaving support. Recovery is underway, but needs remain high. The Emergency Appeal is less than 30% funded. Together, we can help Myanmar recover, stronger, safer, and with dignity. ❤️

In less than a month, thousands of lives have been lost, tens of thousands injured, and millions impacted across Iran. Homes destroyed. Hospitals and schools damaged. Families forced to flee. Yet amid the devastation, humanity persists. Nearly 100,000 responders from the @Iranian_RCS are working tirelessly, rescuing survivors, providing emergency care, and offering critical psychological support to those in distress. The @IFRC is supporting this response, scaling up life-saving aid and mobilizing resources to reach millions in need. 🎙️@MariaMercedes_M

In Iran, the humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating. In almost one month, more than 1,900 people have been killed, including women and children, and at least 20,000 people have been injured. Despite fear and uncertainty, Iranian Red Crescent @Iranian_RCS staff and volunteers continue to respond with remarkable courage, providing emergency care and health services across the country. The @IFRC is supporting this response by scaling up critical resources. We launched an emergency appeal aiming to provide support to the Iranian Red Crescent response efforts, through operational support, and international procurement of critical supplies. I call on call on the international community to show solidarity and support our emergency appeal and the operation in Iran. 👉bit.ly/40gm663

A house rebuilt. A family restored. A future protected. In Sagaing, one family who lost everything in the earthquake has rebuilt their home with support from the @IFRC and the @MyanmarRedCross. With conditional cash support, they’ve created a safer, climate-adapted home: bamboo roofing to reduce heat, elevated foundations to prevent flooding, and space not only for themselves, but to safeguard food for relatives still facing insecurity. Every detail tells a story of dignity, strength, and community. This is what recovery looks like. Locally led, thoughtfully built, and rooted in hope.

The @IFRC is supporting the @RedCrossLebanon as they deliver life-saving services across the country: ambulance missions, blood supply for hospitals, mobile health care, and essential aid for displaced families. Between March 2–23 alone: - 2,754 ambulance missions - 3,244 units of blood distributed - Nearly 80,000 relief items delivered - 22,000 people received primary health care But behind these numbers are families arriving at shelters with almost nothing, volunteers working under extreme risk, and communities facing uncertainty every day. Urgent needs include shelter, food, medical care, and psychological support. We call on partners, donors, and the international community to stand in solidarity. The people of Lebanon cannot face this crisis alone.

In a small kitchen near Mokolo, a mother prepares what may be her family’s only meal today, caring for 10 children with almost nothing. Across Cameroon’s Far North, families are forced to make impossible choices just to survive. Cameroon is facing a deepening food crisis, with 3.3 million people unable to afford enough food as conflict, climate shocks and rising prices push families toward emergency levels of hunger. With support from the @IFRC, the @CroixRougeCam is scaling up emergency food, cash, nutrition and livelihood support, but urgent funding is needed. Your donation can make a difference. donate.redcrossredcrescent.org/ifrc/cameroon-…
