My plumber called me two weeks ago asking what I was doing with AI. He owns a full-service plumbing and water filtration company. Veteran-owned. Multiple crews, trucks, 24/7 emergency dispatch. My son and I drove out to his house and set up an @openclaw AI assistant on his machine. Runs locally, talks to him through messaging app while he's on the job site. The next day, he called to tell me he'd canceled a $40,000 consulting contract — because he was getting more done with his AI in one afternoon than the consultants had scoped over weeks. 36 hours later, he sent me a screenshot of an instant quoting app he'd built for his guys in the field with his AI assistant. "Not bad for a plumber. I was quoted $3,000-$10,000 two weeks ago for that very app. The exact same app. That is unbelievable." I'm a remodeling contractor. My son is learning the business. We're not a tech company. But we understand these tools because we use them every day to run our own operation. Turns out the guy who actually runs a trade company is better at setting up AI for another trade company than a consulting firm charging $40k. We're starting to help other businesses in our area get set up the same way. Not selling software. Just one operator helping another. The future isn't AI replacing blue collar -- yet. It's blue collar guys helping each other level up. The trades aren't getting replaced. They're getting upgraded.
