@danvasc2 Very high skill cap and a bit of a cheater problem at high levels. Fun if you want to dedicate the time to learn spray patterns and get good at it. Otherwise, other shooters are much better for a "pick up and play" experience. Good, yes. Recommend? meh.

Your PCs wake up in the middle of the night to loud explosions and flashing lights. Animals losing their minds. There's some kind of fireworks display happening a few miles away. Upon investigation they find the remains of a burnt out building. Likely arson. #dnd #ttrpg

Your players just finished rolling through a hideout. Killing everything in their path. When they start searching the bodies for treasure, they find a well drawn image of a family. The person they pulled the image from is in the image. What would they do? #dnd #dnd5e #ttrpg

The ability to laugh at yourself is the key to having more fun with your NPCs while running your #dnd #ttrpg games. Even if things don't come out as you intended. Roll with it and have fun! #dnd #ttrpg

@Dennis_G_Link @Animuncula @FaraherMD I have a love/hate relationship with those kinds of things. I like the randomization of progression that the dice give it but I also like the steady progression. Like an RP element that would trigger the trial or something like that. So it keeps moving even with bad dice rolls.

Multi-stage magic weapons are a good way to give a #dnd #ttrpg player a small goal to work for. Example: A sword that unlocks extra abilities or damage after X killing blows at Y level. It's a long game but one that I've found players enjoy.

Dragons are cool! So I want to know.... What is the coolest way you've seen/used a dragon in your games that isn't combat? #dnd #ttrpg

@aCleverBullet I've used that exact method! It gives a lot of depth to the world and, in this case, lead the PCs into a bit of a pickle 😂

@InkOverSword What about superstitions that turn out to be for good reason, but not obvious to PCs right away? Could make a side quest or interesting handicap.

No matter how primitive or modern a culture is there is always superstitions that seem odd to other cultures. Incorporate these differences into your #dnd #ttrpg world to make them feel more alive.

OGL 1.1 is the best @paizo advertisement I've ever seen. It's like WotC is trying to kill the game. The community around a game is the only thing that keeps the game going. If this is released it will nuke that community from orbit.
lin codega@lincodega

Yesterday, I received the full text of the OGL 1.1 from a reputable source. The updated Open Gaming License is incredibly restrictive, demands community surveillance and, most importantly, renders the previous WotC OGL an unauthorized agreement. gizmodo.com/dnd-wizards-of…

@InkOverSword Bonus points if those cultures are from radically different periods in time. But also, if you’re going to base things on real world culture, make sure to spend enough time researching those cultures to avoid stereotyping

What commodities does your world offer? Are things like wool, tobacco, and meed commonplace? Identifying this can give you many points of inspiration for making a unique location/world. #dnd #ttrpg

NPC Idea: Eirlys, a fierce warrior halfling who has a nervous tic of braiding and unbraiding her hair as the action kicks off. This means that she is always at the bottom of the initiative order because she is so distracted. #dnd #ttrpg
