The newest piece of original scholarship from the Institute for the Critical Study of Antizionism .... By Robert Goldberg, "Amalek: The Archetypal Anti-Zionist Jew" This essay argues that the biblical figure of Amalek functions as a transhistorical archetype for the “anti-Zionist Jew,” defined as one who rejects Jewish sovereignty and seeks to sever the link between covenant, peoplehood, and land. Interpreting the Passover Haggadah as a political-theological text, it identifies the Wicked Son as Amalek’s internalized form and frames modern anti-Zionist Jewish thinkers and movements as contemporary manifestations of this archetype.
