@woodenskeleton I think it's a combination of the two, something about being a teenager makes nihilism so much easier to be accepted wholesale, especially when growing up in and around the internet. A big part of becoming an adult for me was finding and fostering the positive

i’ve been having a related conversation with some friends recently regarding whether [internet] culture has shifted in reaction to this type of nihilism in the last ~decade or i (we) have just grown up in that time.
