Five huge matches remain for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal this season… 😬 Ahead of another crucial game in the title race, we asked Gunners and Magpies fans whether they think Arteta will be gone if he doesn’t lift a trophy this season. Agree to Disagree, delivered by @Dominos_UK. AD

VAR is serving no useful purpose. It kills spontaneity in the ground and doesn’t get decisions right. Get rid.

Why are people blaming the fans for going on the pitch. There was two minutes left of the game whatever happens. The Rochdale fans going on the pitch isn’t what has led to York scoring
ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕣 💙⚽️@CharxRafc

Some people saying it crossed the line, others saying it hasn’t but regardless it’s our own karma for the fans running on the pitch. Absolutely devastated for the players 💔 Coming off socials for a while, gutted.

@CliveTyldesley @campbellclaret Another question, why are more and more BBC journalists seemingly allowed to do comment pieces.. report the facts. Don't editorialise.

I am doing some part-time media teaching at uni. This Laura Kuenssberg ‘in depth’ piece on the BBC website includes 6 quotes to back up the tone of the headline. All 6 are from anonymous sources. Is this sound journalism?

The BBC website is leading on an opinion piece. I’m not a Labour supporter, just a retired journalist. This is a contentious decision given the privileged position of our national broadcaster during an election campaign.

If Billy Connolly had done this in 2026, rather than in 1995, he would have been absolutely battered on social media. We are where we are. Humour comes with a sanctimonious watchdog now.

Brian Brobbey should have been sent off in Sunderland's recent win against Tottenham, the Premier League's key match incidents panel has ruled.

The big divide in Britain today is between those who work and those who don’t. Reform are on the side of Brits who set their alarm clocks, get up early and go to work.

Honestly had no idea people disliked Man on Fire (released OTD in 2004). I get it: the editing’s frenetic and Tony Scott shoots every scene like it's a car chase, but a 39% RT rating is nuts. It’s one of the most Denzel Denzel movies ever. What am I missing?

LEAK: Messages between Starmer and Mandelson the night before his appointment: 'You'll be brilliant in challenging circumstances… And after many years of our discussions, we get to work together side by side. I really look forward to that” Didn’t Starmer say they hadn’t spoken? Via @spectator

@Zonal_Marking @AndyMitten Nice! Appreciate the stats and the work behind it. Still very impressive attendances for that level with or without those who might prefer international rugby! They are in a Cup final next Tuesday! Come on you Pink n Blues!

@JeromePowderly @AndyMitten It's a fair request. By my calculations, over the past five years, taking Saturday 3pm Feb-Apr attendances, the difference is about 15%. The average is 2733 on Six Nations days and 3166 on non-Six Nations days (up to 3215 if you take out Easter - egg chasers indeed!)

I’ve come to Dulwich Hamlet. English level 7. Never seen a crowd quite like this in UK. Groups of glamorous girls sipping pints, families, dogs. Packed terraces. Big community feel. Lovely day. I asked for a tea. “What type of tea?” “A normal one,” was my incorrect response.

The fact that Sky are pumping £25m into their coverage of darts this December but aren't preparing to fund the broadcast of England's Test tour of South Africa tells you everything you need to know about the parlous state of bilateral cricket.
