@henrymoeranBBC I'd go back to Sibley this summer. Much improved, will act as a perfect foil for Duckett. Has proven already with 2 hundreds at test level he can do it. As importanly faced 3,000 balls last year. Will only help middle order of Root, Brook & Smith.

100* for Dom Sibley from 281 balls. A real classic of the genre 👏

@hawkhampshire How is it possible that ad rates for darts are worth more than 100+ hours of test cricket between South Africa and England?

The fact that Sky are pumping £25m into their coverage of darts this December but aren't preparing to fund the broadcast of England's Test tour of South Africa tells you everything you need to know about the parlous state of bilateral cricket.

Today we celebrate Saint George — the Greek-speaking Roman soldier who was most likely born in Turkey and who allegedly made dragons extinct. Bit brutal. Anyway, on a lighter note, he was also once the patron saint of England’s natty touring blazers, so we gave him a special day each 23rd of April. Have a very happy Saint George’s Day 🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Jayden Seales has claimed the first seven wickets to fall in an innings for Trinidad & Tobago against Leeward Islands, but looks set to be denied the chance to take 10 with the game halted due to a dangerous pitch. The last ball before the suspension is not for the faint-hearted

@YorkshireCCC They gotta get Bairstow to give up the gloves when he comes back and move up the order, Sam Whiteman used to keep back in the day.

💬"It’s frustrating from the optimism of pre-season and how we finished last year. The work we’ve put in has just not transformed onto the pitch. With bat and ball we’re way, way short." Anthony McGrath on Yorkshire's defeat against Hampshire. yorkshireccc.com/news/we-were-w…

@willis_macp Sounds a bit like the last couple of years, Day 4 the easiest to bat.

Ollie Robinson has always been a good archetypal English seamer. But we shouldn’t go back to him. He’s 32, still the same person, lacks the intensity, professionalism and fitness of the top guys, & would only ever be a stopgap that doesn’t take the team forward. A big no from me.

@tds122 @joerob_96 Sample size and difficulty of chances important to metrics like this. You're just taking numbers as gospel. Foakes clearly a different league to Bairstow including standing up more. Bairstow cost England the ashes missing a very easy stumping after all.

Foakes glovework for England was far from perfect . Fan boys & girls choose to forget that . Was actually more taken with his batting , which was decent without quite being what teams strive for in Tests . But the second coming of Jack Russell behind the stumps was well wide of the mark . I'd look away from Surrey for England's Test keeper

@Athersmike Is opener his real position? Or a case of best opportunity of getting into the side. Rews / Bethell / Brook alongside Asa is exciting future

Had a press conference this morning following the Ashes review. No sackings - ECB say it would have been “easier” to sack McCullum, and acknowledge the decision will not be *universally* popular. More here: telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2026/0…

@ESPNcricinfo Not sure there’s many in this England team who have earned a place through weight of county runs. Happy to be shown I’m wrong.

Kevin Bacon's initial reaction while reading the script of "Wild Things" (1998) was, “the trashiest piece of crap I’ve ever read.” However, he found himself becoming more and more intrigued as its tale got progressively more twisted. He continued, “But every few pages, I kept discovering that it wasn’t what it seemed. Every few pages, there was another surprise.” (Kevin Bacon's interview to Entertainment Weekly, 1998)
