Hey, @Danayoub, I think you'll want to check out the replies to the post quoted below. These are the sentiments of your target audience, the paying customers that your predecessors drove away. I want Luke's new book to do well but to put it lightly you've got a bit of a climb here. One thing to always remember is that none of us "need" new rules or setting materials. We've already got all that we need and more. More often than not we just want products that have a cool vibe, with awesome and inspiring art, written by people who don't gleefully declare how much they hate us, the game's original authors, or the literary sources (Conan, John Carter, Gray Mouser, LOTR, etc.) that the game is based on. The inclusion of pronouns, safety tools and X-cards turned the game into a joke. Plus the weird gender crap with monsters like dryads and hags, turning badass dwarves into gay bakers, a paladin that looks like Hilary Clinton, whatever real world race or culture orcs are attached to on any given month, "cute" beholders, every other encounter being some sort of festival or dance--just stop. Stop all of it. And for the love of God fire all your "sensitivity readers." Their entire reason for existing is to find something in every product to be offended about and censor, so of course they always will, their literal job depends on it! So get rid of them. I recommend getting the core rulebooks back to basics. Remove the tiefling and dragonborn as default PC races and put them in some separate book of humanoids. And yes, call them "races" again. If the term was good enough for Tolkien then it's good enough for D&D. Remember, part of what made D&D explode in popularity in recent years was the fact that it was featured in Community and Stranger Things. And what version were the characters playing in those shows? AD&D. Lean into that. People want to buy books with new Jeff Easley art, so great job on hiring him. Get other great artists as well, you can afford it. People want to support Luke Gygax, Ed Greenwood, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, so good on you for getting that gang back together as well. But the damage done by the likes of Kyle Brink and Jason Tondro cannot be understated, and something that a single second-hand apology will not fix. I'm pulling for the official game to become cool and relevant again, but if genuine and ongoing work isn't done to turn things around then most of us will just forever remain content with what we already have.

And when the Next Gen came out; there was tons of hate because it “wasn’t Star Trek” and the cast probably was in fear from the fans. Again when the series with Bakula came out, it too was panned by the fans because it “wasn’t Star Trek.” Star Trek is different for everyone. 🤷🏼

@newbiedm Maybe some. I think most of it is people who already disliked WotC / Hasbro. There is a part of that audience (which a lot is people in my age group) who hate on everything WotC.

Reading reax to the Gygax/Greyhawk thing, it's pretty clear to me just how much damage WOTC did to its relationship with a part of its audience when it wrote that foreword in the dnd history book and included disclaimers in the old stuff.

For shits and giggles, I decided to see just how hard it would be to replace my birth certificate, Social Security card, AND my marriage license, since Democrats think women are too stupid to figure it out. Here's how it went: 1. Birth certificate: Contacted the health department of the county where I was born. They OVERNIGHTED a certified copy to me the next day - total cost, $14. 2. SS Card: Contacted Social Security on their site. They asked if I was sure I needed the card, since I 'won't likely be asked for it.' I went ahead and got it - took five business days to arrive - total cost, $0. 3. Marriage License: Went to the 'vital docs' site of the county where we were hitched. Filled everything out online, arrived in three days - total cost, $5. It cost less than $20 to obtain all three certified/legal documents, and it took less than five business days to receive them. Note: if I had lived where I was born or married, it would have been a day. Tops. Anyone telling you this is too hard or unfair is lying and hiding the real reason they want to stop Voter ID. I know you guys knew that already... lol
