The path back is politically hard, because the majority of the population is ageing and older electorates generally do not want disruption. They want asset protection, pensions, healthcare, stable house prices, and low risk. That is understandable, but it does not produce a dynamic economy. The hard decisions are obvious: improve education, raise productivity, reduce rent-seeking, build housing, allow productive immigration, reform entitlements, and stop pretending that debt can permanently substitute for growth. Unfortunately, politicians in a democracy tend to pander to the people who vote most reliably. That often means promising money for nothing, protection from change, and benefits without the productivity required to fund them. The deeper answer is demographic. You need more children. A country that does not reproduce itself cannot grow indefinitely by accounting tricks. Politicians cannot simply legislate babies into existence, although they can incentivise family formation through housing, tax, childcare, education, and labour policy. Without that, you get an ageing society protecting yesterday’s assets while asking tomorrow’s smaller workforce to pay the bill.

These are different issues, and you have bundled them together as though confusion becomes wisdom when printed in bulk. Debt is one question. Monetary policy is another. Inflation is another. Gold is another. Wages are another. Household formation is another. Demography is another. Treating them as one grand sermon about the dollar is not analysis. It is economic soup. The real problem did not begin this morning, and it cannot be stopped by shouting at the Federal Reserve as though it were a pantomime villain. These outcomes come from decades of political promises, fiscal commitments, entitlement structures, credit expansion, changing household patterns, asset inflation, productivity shifts, and demographic decline. You also leave out the most inconvenient fact: the population pyramid is changing. People are not having enough children. The working-age base is weakening relative to the retired and dependent population. That changes everything: taxation, debt servicing, pensions, healthcare costs, labour supply, housing demand, consumption, and long-term growth. A country with an ageing population cannot pretend its debt problem is merely “money printing.” It is also a promises problem. Too many obligations, too few future workers, and a political class that bought votes with liabilities it expected unborn generations to pay. As for gold, saying “gold has not risen, the dollar has fallen” is a theatrical half-truth. Prices are relative. Gold moves, dollars move, demand moves, liquidity moves, rates move, risk appetite moves. The world is not a nursery rhyme with one villain and one saint. Yes, the dollar has lost purchasing power over time. That is not the same as saying it is “complete crap.” A worthless currency does not remain the dominant reserve asset, unit of account, settlement medium, and collateral base of the global system. The decline in purchasing power is real. Your explanation of it is not. You are not describing one crisis. You are taking several complex systems, removing every difficult variable, ignoring demography, ignoring productivity, ignoring real consumption changes, ignoring debt structure, ignoring household behaviour, and then announcing that the answer is simple. That is not insight. That is what happens when a man mistakes a chart for an education.

Not software. Not charting packages. Not data aggregation. Bitcoin. At some point one has to stop attributing this to ignorance and start admiring the commitment to being wrong.
