Novel Selenium Carrier Protein Regulates Ferroptosis in Cancer and Brain🧫 👉Read more: t1p.de/kr969 Scientists at #HelmholtzMunich have uncovered the selenium carrier protein PRDX6 as a critical player in #ferroptosis - a cell death process that holds promise for #cancer and neurodegenerative disease #therapies. 💡This study reveals PRDX6’s dual role as both a regulator of #OxidativeStress and a selenium transporter, essential for maintaining cellular defenses against damage. 🌟Implications: Targeting PRDX6 may increase sensitivity to ferroptosis in cancer cells, a potential new strategy against therapy-resistant #tumors.
