What’s up with the @LADWP I live in the Santa Monica area and the smell is awful! I feel so sick from it and after googling AlgalBloom it doesn’t seem like it’s very healthy to be washing, cooking in.

@KlempnerJots @LADWP The smell is literally unbearable. There’s no way washing my face with that water is healthy. Online it says it’s toxic to humans and animals AND there’s possible symptoms of feeling sick, sore throat and stomach pains which is what I’ve had and I don’t drink the water.

@KrystinaTasker @LADWP Even when I pour water through our filter, it doesn't 100% clear up & you can't really do that for your bathwater. The DWP says it's not toxic, so maybe it's not. But I don't really like walking out of the shower smelling like I've rolled around in a muddy, mossy puddle.

Your tap water continues to be safe to drink and the odor does not have any impact on the safety of your water. The odor can also be improved if you run 2/3

@LADWP what’s going on with the water?? It tastes like moldy dirt and from what others have posted it seems it’s an algal bloom problem. What are you doing about it??
