As someone in my 40s that always regretted not playing college football, go chase it if you want it I didn't have any offers out of high school and the WR that played opposite of me was getting offers from every big name school you could imagine I remember feeling like i must not be good enough if i didn't have an offer I also remember the last few weeks of school (football season well over) one of the other WRs behind me on the depth chart was out on the football field by himself running sprints with a parachute attached Didn't think much of it at the time, because the kid never got any playing time even in high school Fast forward two years, the kid that was getting all the recruit letters quit football altogether cause he just didn't really love the game that much Had scholarship offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Florida State and basically any other big program from the 90s, and he just walked away from the sport He liked smoking weed and just didn't care that much about football I was mad at him at the time I loved football and i couldn't believe he was wasting his talent like that I would have given anything to keep playing, but i found myself giving up playing too Still loved the game and always went to football games at the University i attended One game, my team throws a 40 yd td and the name they announced in front of 50,000 fans that caught the touchdown... Not the kid that had all of the scholarship offers, but the kid that was behind me on the depth chart The kid that was running sprints in the off season by himself The kid that didn't worry about who was beside him or in front of him, but just worried about getting better It made me realize that i spent so much time worrying about the kid that i thought was "better" than me and it ended up being the kid "behind" me that played at the next level It taught me two things that i try to pass on to every young person i have met over the years that aspires to play college sports 1. It wasn't my lack of capability that held me back, it was my lack of belief 2. It wasn't my lack of talent that held me back, it was lack of hard work Nobody can tell you how your career will end and the only way it is truly over is if you give up your dream But you better be ready to work, cause posting on X isn't gonna get you what you want Go get that shit for yourself young man! Feed your own dreams until they're big enough to feed themselves 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪 Sidenote: go look up stories about Adam Thielen and Tom Brady when they were in High School and college Truly incredible that Thielen went from being a guy that only had one scholarship offer to a small college and basically was a walk on for the Minnssota Vikings that ended up being one of the best WRs in the NFL And Brady was a backup QB in high school on a team that didn't win a single game We all know what he went on to do in the NFL
