@oiajz_ @LOrakle @HoyasFan07 Drones are changing warfare in the sky as well. Relatively cheap Shaheds can wipe out frontline airfields and the electricity grid in the first days after a war begins. The real question will be who dominates the skies by the end of the first month.

@MaxVerentsov @LOrakle @HoyasFan07 Yes exactly. If there was ever a full-scale confrontation between NATO and Russia, one of the most important things for NATO will be to destroy the Russian air defence, as that poses the biggest threat to NATO's ability to effectively use its airpower.

Poland's army is superior. But Poland is absolutely not more militarily powerful than the UK or France. The UK and France both have a large modern air force, a blue water navy, carriers, SSNs, SSBNs, nuclear weapons, and some of the world's best SOF.
Austin Inskeep@AustinPInskeep

@HoyasFan07 Neither of those countries are the most powerful in Europe. Poland has the only real Army in Europe outside of the two actively fighting each other. Britain especially is in a sad state militarily. It’s not 2015 anymore.

Hezbollah continues to use fiber-optic FPV attack drones to target Israeli armor in southern Lebanon. Seen here, a pair of FPV strikes that hit Israeli Merkava Mk.4 MBTs. First one hits one of the tanks in its track, while the second hits the heavily armored turret front.

@oiajz_ @LOrakle @HoyasFan07 Sure, air superiority is still a decisive factor in full scale wars. But it is very hard to achieve if both sides have deep layered anti air defenses, probably unreachable in wars between comparable forces.

@MaxVerentsov @LOrakle @HoyasFan07 The environment in which drones can be employed in such a way can only exist if neither side can make good use of air power. If Russia had air superiority over the frontline areas in Ukraine they would be able to effectively target drone operators which would enable ground ops.

@Augustusburg1 @HoyasFan07 When war in Ukraine will ends in half a year Russia will be able invade Poland. On 3rd month will start Berlin defence operation. No one will give you that time.

@MaxVerentsov @HoyasFan07 You are right that we have to start with training and integration into military units immediately. But assembly lines for drones can be built in a few weeks. At least here in Germany Makes no sense to build up large stockpiles of drones, because technology is changing too fast.

@Augustusburg1 @HoyasFan07 Assembly lines exist, but not the logistics for true mass production, nor the trained personnel. Drones are worthless without pilots, pilots without experience and specialized equipment and even with all of that, they must operate as part of a coordinated efforts.

@Augustusburg1 @HoyasFan07 Five years if you start right now. Or about a year, if you enter a full scale war. And even those are very optimistic figures.

@oiajz_ @LOrakle @HoyasFan07 And now think what happened if the enemy can do all this because you lack drones or sufficient pilots? If your defenses are breached, only urbanized areas may give you hope for organized resistance.

@oiajz_ @LOrakle @HoyasFan07 Wrong, judgment confuses causes with consequences. It is not that drones became effective because mobile warfare ceased, it drones have made mobile warfare impossible: you cannot concentrate forces you cannot create decisive superiority you cannot reliably provide logistics

@LOrakle @HoyasFan07 Tanks are not absolute, but their role on the battlefield become much smaller. It is not drones that need to be integrated, "it is drone units, used en masse and with speed, that will dominate future battlefields". The last time France failed to adapt to such a shift, Paris fell.

@MaxVerentsov @HoyasFan07 Feel like it's the same discourse over and over "Tank are obsolete because of ATGM" "Planes are obsolete because of SAM's" "Fleets are obsolete because of subs". The drone needs to be integrated, not to have everything shaped around it. It takes time, which is normal

@LOrakle @HoyasFan07 Yea, colonial wars are great until the enemy knocks on the doors of your own bedroom. The shift has already happened. Right now it is simply evolving. But of course, you can keep using sails instead of steam and wait until the gas engine arrives.

@MaxVerentsov @HoyasFan07 Yeah the army is starting to include more and more drones but the focus isn't on high intensity warfare since you know, we aren't at war with Germany. And you speak yourself of prepping for the last war, why should we all massively shift like everything's gotta change ?

@MaxVerentsov @HoyasFan07 Lol yeah sure. Aside from Ukraine and Russia, everybody's "behind". Frnace, the US, the UK etc are all making progress and adapting. You'd knew that if you cared a minimum. Nobody expects anyone to be as prepared as Ukraine

@ZelenskyyUa Russia opened the "Grain Corridor" out of generosity and in response to requests from other countries. This is not your accomplishment. Don’t try to sell nonexistent expertise or scam people with services you can’t deliver.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський
Our signal to the United States and countries in the Middle East about the Strait of Hormuz was that we were open to discussing it. As of today, I don't see any country lifting the blockade on its own, only joint steps can bring results. Ukraine has experience with launching the Grain Corridor in the Black Sea despite Russia’s attempts to block the flow of food and other goods. The situation now is similar, but it is about energy. Our suggestion – based on our experience – was as follows. The war and the negotiations on reopening the Hormuz Strait can go in parallel. It’s worth trying to find a diplomatic solution, and this could be beneficial for both sides in the war. An alternative step would be to control the Strait unilaterally, as Ukraine did with the Grain Corridor. Achieving this would require interceptors, military convoys to escort the vessels, a large integrated electronic warfare network, and other tools. We stand ready to help with this. But for now, we are not yet involved. So far, no one has made such a request. We are simply sharing our knowledge. If one day our partners want to make use of it, we would be ready. From an interview with NewsNation.
