Hausa people also built Jimeta. Like they did Numan and Lau. All on the Benue. ✊🏾 #RanarHausa

What about the mosque of Alu yaji Ɗan tsamiya? Which is older than that of Rumfa, what about Gobarau in Katsina? Both Older. 😂

@niggergerian Erasure how?Who will erase who? These types of buildings are going extinct. It's the so-called Fulani emirs that have preserved them. Go build like your ancestors. Bring back Zaure, Zane, Zanko, Dakali and all, instead of fighting phantom enemies.

Nothing comes close to Hausa-Fulani architecture. Not even modern designs. So why is the world ignoring it?

This is Hausa Architecture not Hausa-Fulani. The Fulani live in huts.

In case you missed it, in this essay I write about the loss of Hausa names in Northern Nigeria in favour of Islamic (and Christian) names. I look particularly at Arabic and Qur’anic names, carried into Hausa life through Islam and naturalised so thoroughly that they now wear the mask of indigeneity. Where, oh where, have the Hausa names gone?, by @elnathan_john open.substack.com/pub/elnathanjo…
