The FedEx driver who abducted a seven-year-old girl before driving her to her death, complains about how bad his life will be if he goes to prison. Tanner Horner abducted and killed Athena Strand while delivering a Barbie to her home in North Texas. In newly released footage, Horner could be heard whining to police about how he won't be able to watch his son grow up if he goes to prison. Horner was heard accusing a voice in his head named 'Zero' of making him kill Athena. "I'm going to miss out on all my son's Christmases, his birthdays, and growing up. I'm going to miss out on everything," Horner said. "All because I listened to some stupid voice that isn't probably even there."

This is where the legal system really doesn’t work well. I’m not sure the exact statutory penalties in Wyoming but they don’t really account for what this guy did. Something about the manner and duration of what he did deserves a more severe punishment but law is supposed to be general so it doesn’t account for this kind of strange behavior. Public whipping would probably be a more equitable penalty to ensure the lesson is impressed upon him. I don’t really know what else to do in the face of such anti life behavior.

The ex post facto logic of this has always been funny to me. Muslims generally got along with Jews, much more so than they did with Christians prior to the creation of the state of Israel. Not to relitigate the whole history there but Jews has behaved terribly in the region for 100 years and now the Muslims don’t like them. So they read an old book by another guy who didn’t like Jews and then the Jews use that as justification to keep invading their Muslim neighbors.
