A few things. 1. The server is unprofessional to call out a customer for not tipping 2. You may not agree with "tipping" but that doesn't change the reality that tipping is what allows restaurants to operate a wait staff without charging astronomical prices for the food. Restaurant margins are razor thin as it is. 3. Withholding a tip because you don't agree with tip culture doesn't do anything accept hurt your server who has nothing to do with the system. The store/chain got paid in full, they could care less about you withholding a tip. Furthermore, you just let the entire wait staff of that restaurant know that you're not worth their time or effort and if they have a store manager who's worth a damn, he's going to look the other way when your food comes out late and cold after an hour wait on a busy night. Then there's the fact that most restaurant staffers work multiple jobs and your reputation for not tipping on $100+ tabs will follow you to most restaurants in your area. Especially now that you were dumb enough to post this on social media.

I paid a $169.29 breakfast bill and left the tip at $0. Not because I didn’t notice the line — but because tipping, for me, is still a personal choice, not a fixed charge. The meal itself was fully paid for. The prices were set, the tax was added, and the total was clear. Covering that bill already supports the restaurant, its staff, and its operations. That part of the transaction was complete. What made this moment uncomfortable wasn’t the math — it was the pressure that followed. Tipping used to be a way to say “thank you” when service stood out. Somewhere along the way, it shifted into an expectation that can feel detached from the actual experience. Everyone comes in with different circumstances, different standards, and different limits. Respecting that choice — whatever the number — is part of keeping trust between customers and businesses. When that respect slips, so does the desire to come back. Credit: Lena Anderson via FB

A timely Soviet joke: A man comes to a newsstand every day, scans the front page, and leaves disappointed. One day the vendor asks what he's looking for. The man says an obituary. "But, Comrade, the obituaries are at the back." The man replies, "Not the one I’m looking for."

Back tf up for a a sec, Chad. You know how many snotty, disrespectful white boomers I've had to deal with when I worked in retail? Also, I would've been fired if I called a customer ANYTHING when I got fed up with them. I bet you'd be one of those saying "get s better job" then.

"The Somalian customers were harassing her about not enough caramel & attacked her clothes!" Yeah, I worked customer service before & got harassed, yelled at, threatened, etc over all sorts of shit. It never spurred me to use a racial slur.

Hi @DHSgov, We’re the folks who reported the facts you’re now dismissing. So just a reminder: We found 170+ cases of immigration agents detaining U.S. citizens this year. In dozens of cases, charges have never been filed or the cases were dismissed. Among the detained: nearly 20 children, including two with cancer. propublica.org/article/immigr…
Homeland Security@DHSgov

Stop fear-mongering. ICE does NOT arrest or deport U.S. citizens. If a U.S. citizen is arrested, it is because they have obstructed or assaulted law enforcement. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity. Secretary Noem has been clear: rioters will not stop us or slow us down.
