Say hello to our new detection duo! 👮🏻‍♂️ 🐶 Congrats to PC Connell & PD Anna, who have both been successful in completing their initial 6-week drugs detection course. Based in Inverness, they will be deployed to help detect drugs and remove them from our communities.

Happy retirement to the amazing, award winning PD Amber! After almost 9 years in Tayside division, saving lives and catching baddies, this 2 X Scottish champ, and 3 X National Police Dog Trials rep, (UK's most obedient dog!) now retires by her handlers side for new adventures.

⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ PUPPY ALERT ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ One of our pups, #TPDSkara, met her colleagues and some locals @PSOSWestIsles when she visited #Barra the other week. Here she is at Eolaigearraidh Beach where she was loving life! Its all socialisation & environmental training at her age 🐶

After a stolen vehicle was pursued by @PSOSRoads after a housebreaking, they caught 3 suspects 😁 . #PDNinja then started looking for a 4th one who had "given it legs". Unfortunately for them, she put her nose down, tracked through woodland & located them hiding. Result!👏

After report of a single car RTC, but no driver with it, #PDEli was called in. She picked up a track, went through numerous fields and then searched a woods. She found the naughty driver hiding under a tree. He had no licence, insurance & failed a road side breath test. Arrested!

#PD Paco got to play this week after some suspected drug dealers made off in a car and crashed it in Inverness. 2 men "gave it legs" but PD Paco led his leash holder straight to them hiding in some bushes near a train line. After Paco "had a chat" they wisely gave up. 👏 👏

Tracing a vulnerable person in Oct'24 @PSOSArgyllBute led to #PDBud & handler receiving @RoyalHumane Society award for their efforts in saving a life. PDs are invaluable at incidents like these & continuously show their worth alongside their handlers. 👏🏻 👏🏻 #WhatWeTrainFor

It was a great chance for #PDOdin and his handler to meet the public in support of the @The_NFRSA in Perth last weekend. Looks like Odin enjoyed the chance to help (or the tasty treats). The NFRSA kindly support many of our dogs and handlers in their retirement.👏 #WorthyCause

Remember #PD Duke? After gaining PD status in June, he is already proving his crime fighting worth. Duke sprung into action this week assisting colleagues in Inverness. A drink driver thought he could run and hide! Dukes keen nose soon sniffed him out. #hideandseekchamp

Meet #TPDElmo, Aberdeen Dog Units newest recruit. He's following a number of his "relatives" including PD Eva, in to a police career as a General Patrol Dog. Elmo was sourced from an Aberdeenshire based breeder and will be taught the basics by PC Warden. Wish him luck!
