Our #MotorcycleSafetyCampaign began yesterday running until September. Our officers will be conducting patrols, in marked & unmarked vehicles, on key motorcycling routes across the country with a view to reducing the number of casualties and improve driver/rider behaviour .

Officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit conducted a speed check yesterday on the #A701 at Romanno Bridge near to Newlands Primary School. 8 drivers are now the subject of a report to the PF for driving in excess of the 20mph limit imposed at this location. #SlowerIsSafer

As more motorcyclists return to the roads following the winter, our officers will be patrolling key routes where we will engage with road users , taking enforcement action where needed in our efforts to reduce road casualties. Please ride/drive safely and responsibly !

#Lanarkshireroadpolicing took part in a two day action plan tackling Anti Social Behaviour in Hamilton Palace Grounds and Asda carparks.Over 100 vehicles were stopped,numerous offences were detected and positive engagement with drivers was well received. #Antisocialbehaviour

Officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit in #Edinburgh stopped the rider of this E-Bike yesterday in Lindsay Rd after being observed riding on the pavement. Officers noted the bike did not meet the restrictions placed upon their use. Bike seized & driver reported. #DontRiskIt

Officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit conducted a road check in #Glasgow this afternoon. Two drivers were found to be driving with no insurance or licence, a third was found to be driving with a provisional licence, unaccompanied and with no insurance . #DontRiskIt

#DunsRP stopped a 65-year-old male on the A68 at Newtown St Boswells. No insurance since June last year! Needless to say, the car has been seized and an FPT issued. Not worth the risk. #OpDriveInsured #DriveSmart

Officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit stopped the rider of this motorcycle this morning In the east end of #Glasgow for a routine check. The rider did not have a valid licence. Vehicle seized and a 55yr old male is now the subject of a report to the PF. #DontRiskIt

#FifeRP spotted this vehicle in the Glenrothes area. On speaking with the driver it was ascertained they were driving outwith the conditions of their licence and had no insurance. The driver thereafter failed the @DrugWipeUK Driver arrested and vehicle seized. #Fatal5

Dealing with an overturned car on the M90 is risky enough without drivers ignoring the overhead signs ❌ The six drivers who ignored the Red X whilst officer were clearing the road, will all be reported to court #DriveSmart

Officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit conducted a road check earlier on the A739, Glasgow. One of the vehicles stopped was found to have this defective tyre. On wet, icy, or snow-covered roads , good tyres are essential for vehicle braking, handling, and grip. #DontRiskIt

Our Roads Policing Teams, teamed up with DVSA, to conduct a road check on the A1. -2 HGV drivers, found committing offences relating to tachograph use. -11 vehicles prohibited from use on our roads. -1 carrying a load, 50% heavier, than the vehicle was permitted to carry.

Our Duns Roads Policing Officers, stopped and removed two uninsured vehicles, from the road network, 01/02/2026, on both the A1 and Edinburgh City Bypass. Both parties accepted conditional offers, 6 points and a £100 fine. #DunsRP #Seizedbypolice

#FifeRP stopped this vehicle in the Kingsbarns area. Officers carried out a search of the vehicle and recovered an amount of herbal matter. The driver failed @DrugWipe and was arrested to obtain a blood sample. If over the limit a report will be submitted to @COPFS
