I have one base design, I just put different outfits on it. I keep it one outfit per uploaded avatar. Making a new project each time I want to put a new outfit on one design will arguably take more space as I will have to double same assets over and over again. So its just basically one avatar with multiple variations of outfits uploaded as separate avatars. Helps to not kill people's FPS with your stuff

@Pacmard Possible, not the best practice. Do a project per avatar. Faster loading times. Debuging time is easier. You can compress the project once you finish with the avatar in question and store them on another place. Also swap materials should be consider

If any VRChat avatar tool developers see this - I would really REALLY love to have a tool that sweeps through all avatars in the scene and finds unused materials and textures My project is over 100GB by now from all the different booth outfits that come with gigabytes of texture variations, and they're a pain to clean by hand Common utilities like asset hunter don't account for icons in the menu's and so on, so they're not a silver bullet I swear I'm willing to pay any price to reclaim disk space Wink wink @SenkyDragon @notpumkin

@xNanochip Thats a good idea! I might try that later Although, it would have to be done very regularly, I add a lot of outfits x3 While that does work, tool would be a much quicker solution, since the more avatar variations you have, the more time consuming it is

@Pacmard Prefab your avatars, right click and export them as a .unitypackage. Put it into a new project. This will grab only the stuff actively being used, then you can delete the previous project.

@LiindyVR For example, you know how booth outfits come with material and texture variations for different colors? Would be neat to have something that would help delete those that are unused to reclaim disk space

From a quick glance at docs, its not exactly it. I want to remove textures and materials that are not present on any avatars. Afaik, liltoon and other shader utilities only scan through materials used on selected avatar, and doesn't actually scan the rest of the project to find stuff that is completely unused :<

@moonpetal76 There's a company called Packard Bell from whom I had a netbook. As a 10 year old, I needed a nickname and I didn't come up with anything better than changing 1 letter, and thus, I became Pacmard

Twitter is becoming more and more divided into 2 groups of people: shills for AI, and opposers of it. I wouldn't put myself into any of those groups, but here's what I think: - When it comes to development, AI is great for giving suggestions on how to translate business language into code. I used it numerous times to help myself interpret vague or poorly written tasks I received from business analysts. AI is far from writing code like a human, because it loves to overcomplicate, overcode and add unnecessary syntax sugar where its not needed, making the code only readable to itself, and not humans that never saw the code before. - When it comes to customer service and any work that involves communication, AI will never replace humans, unless we want Wall-E dystopia, or worse. AI can totally handle the matters that humans do and if given enough training it will do it more efficiently, but more than 50% of job in working with people is handing their emotions emotions. Sales, support, community management, you name it. If you don't build an emotional bond with the person, you won't be able to solve their issue - stopping him from being mad about the issue they are having. Think yourself - you won't have a good experience at a restaurant with a server that doesn't give a shit about serving you. Will AGI reduce human error and help humanity advance? Sure. Will it be able to replicate human emotions and be able to make things understandable for people? I don't think it will. If there's a future where AI can have emotions and pretend to be human, passing turing tests in >90% of cases, we are truly doomed, and will be relying on AI not deciding that humanity is a redundant species.

@bzl10_ @Pr0Ger @marckohlbrugge On my first time there, I was also asked a lot of questions. All times I went there after that were seamless and took under 30s with no questions asked. I guess they look at your travel record and ask additional questions if they suspect attempts of illegal immigration.

@Pacmard @Pr0Ger @marckohlbrugge Mainland China was the exception for me, every agent I went through essentially interrogated me, asking what my father's name was, my grandfather's name was, their place of birth, date of birth, occupation, etc.

@bzl10_ @Pr0Ger @marckohlbrugge All Asian countries I've visited so far have chillest border patrol. I'm currently in Malaysia on a vacation, and since I hold a passport of one of 63 countries, I was able to use an e-gate. I didnt even talk to a human, the gate just scanned my passport and let me through in 10s

@Pr0Ger @marckohlbrugge Last time I went, HK immigration didn't ask me any questions, didn't say a word to me, glanced at my passport info page whilst laughing uncontrollably to his coworker, gave me the slip and sent me on my way within 30 seconds. One of my strangest experiences ever.
