Are you an NHS midwife working with pregnant women antenatally in England? Can you help me with my PhD research project? It involves an online 30 minute interview. If interested please complete the pre-interview question link in thread. Feel free to share this post.

Today it has been reported that during our first round of action in England mortality rate was 11.1% above the 5 year average. What they haven’t reported was that in Wales, where no strike action took place, mortality rate was 14% above the 5 year average. 1/3

@Raja19 @docdai It's such a wake up call as a "junior" looking up to consultants and clinical leaders thinking they have all the power and then you become a real adult and realise the truth 🤣

@docdai My learning from 27 yrs in NHS - we are all minuscule cogs in a giant machine. A day after you finish someone else replaces you and you are not missed. Do your job well and sincerely but remember there are ppl in your life - who are more imp. Don’t take ur job in NHS 2 seriously

It’s an excellent programme.Another very under represented group in senior leadership roles in HB & royal colleges who needs this initiative, support & mentorship are BAME docs. Hope the RCP or CTM will consider that. @RCPWales @ctmemg @Parbzz
Dr Nerys Conway@DrNezCon

Never regretted doing this and I couldn’t recommend it enough. It gives you confidence, a network, strong mentorship. I never would have applied for my AMD job if I hadn’t taken part in this…..do it girls!

Sad state of affairs that doctors and nurses are striking. Fully support them. They are doing it for the security of the health service, this broken system cannot continue. Coming soon to a picket line near you...

If anybody has a cure for insomnia that doesn’t involve pills, baths, lavender, audio seascapes, memory foam, soft-voiced meditation experts or successive visualisation of non-related objects, then do pass it on.

@MikeStone2_EoL Having recently completed a "birth plan" I can tell you it's nice to have your values and preferences written down following discussions. Not every eventuality can be accounted for. Still important to voice/write down your views though for when you can't articulate them later!

What does the NHS imply, when it puts 'plan' at the end of a label - Future Care Plan, Emergency Treatment Plan etc? A few weeks ago a character in a radio play said 'It wasn't a plan, it was a suggestion'. Is 'a plan' as the word is used by the NHS 'more than

So incredibly grateful to @CV_UHB emergency dept for seeing, assessing, treating and discharging my Gran all within 5h last night. She was reluctant to attend (82, hearing impaired, English 2nd language) but she was so impressed with the care. Thank you so much to the ED staff
