@damiiism I believe that passage focus was on Christians prioritising Christ instead of chasing wealth. It's not really a promise of wealth after righteousness

@Password042 True. However, if you seek ye first the kingdom of God, you get all the treasures anyway. It's not against treasures but against bad priorities

How can you even begin to address this? Now I know why they got a $300m fine.

If you're ever nervous about the ongoing market correction, just remember: - This is just a small bump in the journey - There will be plenty more - There will be bigger ones - There will be longer ones Stay humble. I started my trading my current portfolio at the pink line. The drawdown sucks but it's well within expectation.

@Password042 @iyanuiyanuiyanu Twisting an asset purchase gone bad as a liability doesn’t change the basis. Whats the intention behind the purchase in the first instance? To gain value… that’s what an asset is for.

This year, I do not have strength for Car is a liability conversation. No matter how you want to flip it, the definition of what constitute an asset or liability must align with the description as laid down in a sound finance body of knowledge. Anything else is trash. Imagine me coming out to tell Doctors that if I feel pain on the left part of my head, it is headache but if it’s on the right, it migraine. You can’t change the meaning of other terms known to some other profession without you getting a backlash. All these Surelere Kiyosaki should pack well and face front. 1. Car is an asset, if you bought it and own it outrightly. 2. If you borrowed money to buy the car. The car itself is an asset, while the money you borrowed is the liability. 3. If you lease the car, the car is an asset to you because you own the “right to use” the car (think of this as a Franchise you bought). Any future payment you need to make is the liability. 4. If you own the car outrightly and you either use it for personal use or for a taxi business or to rent it out, it is still an asset no matter the use.

@KMRotimi @hedrees_ayinde The analogy you presented lacks basic intellectual reasoning nor logic behind it. I don't understand what you are trying to explain with it

@iyanuiyanuiyanu @hedrees_ayinde ... Beyond textbook definitions for official bookkeeping, there should be a dynamism of what an asset or liability is on an informal level based on individual experiences or circumstances. Simple

@iyanuiyanuiyanu @hedrees_ayinde ...Man Utd got tired and paid him off (losing more money). In all these, would you describe Phil Jones as an asset or liability to Man Utd? Of course, IAS 16 will say Phil Jones was an asset, meanwhile common sense will tell you he wasn't. My point?...

@hedrees_ayinde This is 2025, things has gone beyond textbook definitions eg Personal finance. Accounting field seems to be a static field where no new hypothesis are profounded. Every now and then, science changes/modifies definition of some of its theories.

@hedrees_ayinde @Junaydullahh There are millions of knowledge on the internet. I believe it's best you accepts the one more relatable to you and resonates more with your current circumstances. Just like I won't expect an ACA to buy d guy's knowledge onto his daily work. That's d beauty of alternate knowledge

@Password042 @Junaydullahh Oh if it isn’t universal, people should keep it within the confines of their room. The moment you start peddling it out there as we have seen, it means you want some level of acceptance. No matter how you want to brand it.

@hedrees_ayinde @Junaydullahh Again, you failed to understand there isn't a "universal" informal knowledge. The moment it becomes universal, it changes to formal - more like it's now stamp.

@Themandemi @hedrees_ayinde Pple having d free will to informally educate themselves as it relates more to how their immediate circumstances functions shouldn't be class as ignorance, see it as alternate education. Imagine addressing herbalist as ignorant simply bcos they acquired education differently

International and National Accounting bodies release new standards every year on how ledgers and books should be treated, and interpreted. In fact, you will be hard pressed to find a field as dynamic as accounting and finance - a field that allows anyone to learn its trade and become certified - even if your bachelors degree is in forestry. You would know all these if you truly knew or researched about accounting but you don’t. An asset is a state of existence not an opinion of what it means to you and your personal situation. A human being in coma is still a human being, he doesn’t become non living till he/she dies. That’s how facts work, not opinions. All these uneducated takes dressed in fancy English is our greatest problem today because often, this kind of ignorance is akin to the semi-literate - marinated with heavy arrogance.
