🚧 Box Hill Road closure 🚧 Due to an urgent water leak, Box Hill Road will be closed from 8 PM tonight (Wednesday) until 4 PM Friday (May 30th). For the safety of our teams completing the works, this is a full road closure - all traffic and local residents will need to follow the following diversion – this will be signed. Pebble Hill Road (B2032), Reigate Road (A25), A24, B2209, and Zig Zag Road back to Box Hill Road . Please allow extra travel time. We are sorry for the disruption this will cause, and we are doing everything we can to reopen the road as soon as possible.

@SESWater Hi @SESWater your legal obligations is not only the most vulnerable. It is to everyone. Maybe ask @PennonGroup to pump more money into getting it resolved faster and providing more staff and resources on the ground to create a plan during such emergencies @Ofwat @DefraGovUK

@LukeTaylorLD Hi Luke, we are lacking in updates. Whilst the new stations were positive they are only interim steps to ensure we all regain access to water. @SESWater @SuttonCouncil @AgeUKSutton -how are you ensuring those who dont have internet are getting help - SMS? Call? Door to door?

Glad to see a water collection point open in Cheam finally at Cheam Library, Church Rd, Sutton SM3 8QH. This will remain open throughout the night for residents to collect water. Please do share with neighbours, and I will continue to push SES for a permanent fix.

Unfortunately, our Cheam Treatment Works remains out of service. Work has been ongoing throughout the night and will continue until the issue is resolved. Overnight, we have been able to recover water supplies and have continued to utilise our network to manage storage in the area. Some customers may experience low pressure and no supplies throughout parts of today. Bottled water stations remain in place at the following locations: Bourne Hall in Ewell, KT17 1UG Upper High Street Car Park KT17 4DU

So traffic is an issue for cheam but gridlocking bourne hall isng a traffic issue 🤔 right.......
SES Water@SESWater

@PathKaizen97441 @teresamorgan10 @Nigel42 @CheamBaptist We are grateful for the kind offer to use the Church however, we need to consider the wider effects of traffic building up in that area of Cheam. We are preparing a 4th bottled water station as soon as we are able. Thank you.

I have been informed by SES this afternoon of a fault at the Cheam Water Treatment Works that is leaving some facing complete loss of water supply. I am monitoring the situation closely - please see my statement below for information about getting access to bottled water.

@LukeTaylorLD @sarahjgorrell just to clarify there are around 4000 households without water for over 24 hours. Those who have technological and communication disadvantages have no way to communicate. No central heating. Sewage building up. Dehydrated. Its just being ignored.

The situation in Sutton and Cheam today is simply not good enough, and deeply distressing for many. I'm continuing to push SES to resolve the situation quickly - and in the meantime provide bottle stations that are actually *within* Sutton and Cheam. buff.ly/401hRMs
