And to think some people wanted Roberto Martinez as Celtic manager.
The man's record in management is incredibly underwhelming. Aside from the Nations League which, let's be honest, is little more than glorified friendlies he has consistently fallen short when it matters most.
For years he's been talked about as an elite coach, yet his teams have repeatedly failed to deliver on the biggest stage despite having some outstanding players at their disposal.
Hopefully this tournament finally puts any future links to Celtic firmly to bed. We need winners, not managers living off a reputation that has never quite matched the reality.
Knicks coach Mike Brown on Monday: “I never thought I would be in the NBA Finals and see a team get 24 free throw attempts in the second half to another team's eight.”
Tonight, New York has a 23-6 free throw advantage in the first half and trails by 27.
Which of the three penalty saves against England did you enjoy the most?
Ricardo (Former Portugal goalkeeper):
“I remember our short meeting before the match, where I reassured Scolari that I would save the first penalty, and that it would be Lampard’s.
I knew that if I held out until the end, I would be able to read Lampard’s shooting style.
I held on until the end and saved it.
It had a huge impact on the England team, they felt frustrated.
Then we missed two penalties, and I saved Gerrard’s penalty.
But Carragher’s penalty made me laugh the most.
I looked at his face and thought to myself: ‘You’re done! You’ve ruined everything!’ [laughs]
That was the one I enjoyed the most.
I knew that if I saved it, we would win, because Cris was coming next and he never misses penalties.”
What joke of a game. Win a game at home Thunder without Tony brothers to give you everything. A joke. SGA is the crappiest superstar ever. @spurs@thunder
