@abarrera @JasonSamfield Perfect Tense has a spelling and grammar API as well as a (free!) JavaScript library that provides a similar interface to Grammarly that you can put on your site/WordPress blog. Is this something you would be interested in trying?

@JasonSamfield @Grammarly Oh I've been a fan of @Grammarly for a long time now :) And yeah, that would be awesome to have a centralized mistake API. Would make for a cool WordPress plugin hehe

@hilarymarsh While these things are nice I do wonder how useful they are when people are up against deadlines and have a natural writing style that flows and potentially could be at odds with the script. I long for the day when @Grammarly offers a customised API to pipe into the CMS.

@languagetoolorg Thanks for the pointer! Grammarly offers more than a spell check though. Premium subscription even suggests alternatives according to the chosen text style. Sadly, there is no any open alternative to this.

How it comes that @Grammarly still doesn't have an API? It is ridiculously sad for a modern service in 2019.

@kazi_shahin01 Hey Kazi, Perfect Tense has an intelligent spelling and grammar checking API (perfecttense.com/docs/ ) that you can integrate with your software. We'd love to talk - send us a message!

I love writing in @code with markdown. It's been a game changer for my workflow. Only Current Issues are 1) My team blog doesn't support md so it's a manual process, 2) no @Grammarly extension for VS Code, and 3) I need a personal blog flow to publish straight out of code.

@ulyssesapp @JuanDazaArevalo Perfect Tense offers intelligent spelling and grammar correction and we would be happy to offer an API for building an integration.

@grammarly @juandazaarevalo We would be happy to offer a Grammarly integration for Ulysses. For this to happen, we would need an API for Grammarly, though – we've already contacted them about this, so fingers crossed 🙂

Pleeeeeeease let it be.

Question - for those of you who write in markdown, what spelling and grammar checkers do you use? And yes - copy and paste to grammarly counts :)

@Grammarly does an API exist for the service? Would be fun to have grammar checking in Intellij and Visual Studio Code

@askashdavies Yes, we have a "dialect" parameter you can pass with each API request, although I think our naming conventions are a little more accurate!
