I vibecoded me a project today that I had on the backburner for a while, callgraph extraction with IDAPython and D3 force-directed graph vis. Did it work out of the box? No Claude made some hilarious mistakes. Was it faster than just me? For sure. Is it useful? Nah. Fun? Yup.

@amaanq @zack_overflow I recommend Codeberg nowadays for everyone (or self-hosted Forgejo). They also work on decentralization by supporting federation protocols. Another good option, if you want the power of minimalism is SourceHut.

What disassembly frameworks are people using these days? Is it still IDA all day any day, or do Binary Ninja and Ghidra have significant market share yet?

Well, anyway, this was fun. And while I did enjoy this exercise, I am going to stick with VirtualBox for my VM needs 😅. No crazy network configs, more stability, and more ease of use. Thanks for following along @threadreaderapp unroll.

It's probably been ten years since I last used the QEMU emulator. I thought to myself, "How hard could it be to get QEMU running with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 with good sound, networking, and video in 2025"? Oh, man... okay, let's talk about it in a 🧵 here.

I left AWS last week. It's been a good week 😊 I'm going back to full time reverse engineering, however that might look like.
