A flashback to this day five years ago, when I did an eight-mile circular walk from/to home under Scotswood Railway Bridge on the Tyne, then via Blaydon and Swalwell. It saw traffic until 1982 when Tyne Valley Line traffic was diverted, to continue east to Newcastle via Dunston.
