went to visit my friend this afternoon. She’s getting married in May. While I was there, she started shouting at her dad… so I quietly stood up to leave. Her dad asked me to sit back down. The issue? He wants the wedding moved from Lagos to their village in Abia State. My friend was upset. She said her friends won’t be able to come. She kept asking her dad how he could change the location just like that, and what she would tell her husband’s family. Her dad said he would transport 10 people. She got even more emotional and asked, “Is it only 10 people I know in Lagos?” Then he turned to me and asked, “Ada, will you come if the wedding is in Abia State?” I answered honestly: “My dad won’t allow me travel for now.” He got upset, walked me out, and said I’m the one teaching his daughter “strange things.” Now I’m wondering… Was I wrong for answering him like that? 🤔
