The GOP kicked out Dan Crenshaw tonight. And it is well on its way to kicking out John Cornyn in favor of a serial philanderer and fraudster who even Cornyn himself will tell you has zero integrity and is unfit for office. To the few still clinging to the belief that the GOP will “come back” someday: How many times does the GOP have to show you this is who it is before you finally believe them? The battle to be waged against this version of the GOP is in the *general* election—not the primary. Help us defeat it, starting in Texas.

A Republican caller asks: “What about these tariffs? This is like free money for us. Trump is the only one to do it.” @HeathMayo: “We’re going to have to disagree on this one. Tariffs are fundamentally bad economic policy. We’ve tried them—and they always lead to less growth and inflated prices. They don’t even protect jobs like proponents claim. Plus, even if you think tariffs are a good idea, why would we increase them on our allies like Canada and Mexico and make things easier on Russia?”

Why are so many members of Congress retiring or stepping down? @HeathMayo: “It’s just not a serious job. Look at people like Nancy Mace. They go to Congress to build a name and get clicks. I don’t know how many members of Congress even know how a bill gets passed.”
